Bottle Blows Up

Otherwise it will take a death for people to sit up and take note, and that is definately something that everyone believes they dont want to happen..
http://www.ukpsf.com/paintballlaw.asp#8 Slightly different issue I know, but as someone pointed out, how many people have been trained on filling air bottles ? I personally got about 2 minutes training to be "qualified" to fill my own bottle.

Perhaps the various leagues could institute some basic Air Safety courses. A quick half hour course on air safety, the rights and wrongs, and the downright stupid and idiotic, before allowing people to fill their own bottles. Stops any obvious problems and improves safety.

For anyone who was wanting to see the crossfire bottle that went on fire also.
Quick - BAN CROSSFIRES!!! ;) :D

Keko - There was an incident i believe at a recent tournament in the UK where a brand of goggles fell off someone's face (in poor conditions i think - Im sure i'll be corrected here) and they got hit in the face. I've made a note of the brand of goggles and when they reach the third incident you bet your ass ill be shouting asking for a ban before i know or even understand the reason they fell off.....

how about we ban all fill rigs that FLASH FILL, and stop being impatient at the fill rig and wait the the 1 minute it takes to safely fill a bottle wether it be a pmi, stako or crossfire.

Good!

If I were running a site and goggles kept falling off, I would stop using them until we figured out why.

Ban all morons I say and then we may get things changed a little quicker.

and it's keka... not keko...
in fact have you actually read anything that I have posted...?

S**t!

I am definitely going now...

That's my point they an not always blowing up! 3 incidents where at least one has been proven to be user error does not mean always or even regularly - How many fills do stako and similar bottles have every day/week?

Luke i think hit the nail on the head (which has been mentioned on numerous occasions also) Slow fills down AND educate ballers on the correct use of rigs and how to use air fill rigs, and maintain/keep clean tanks etc

Will everyone calm down? It's Nige that got blew up and you don't see him shouting  ;)

I won't even pretend to know much about bottles or compressors, all I know is that I need to be able to have faith in my kit.

It's un-nerving to hear about, but if Stako are thoroughly investigating this incident then thats all that can be done.

You can't stop people useing stakos if they don't want to, but if most places are temporarily banning stakos untill the investigation is over then that seem's sensible.

Hopefully nothing else like this will never happen again.

Glad to hear that you didn't leave any bodily parts scattered around the field. :)

That's what I do - I've only ever filled my 4500 tank to 3000, simply because I'm bloody scared of the forces involved. It's bad enough when macro blows at 800psi, can't imagine what a tank going pop must be like. :(

Yeah, Id do that if they separated the 4500psi fill rigs from the 3k by a safe enough distance.
As it stands I dont think its that much safer, seing as at most places you still have to get very close to people filling at 4.5k.

Also you have to fill between every game/point.
