Steve...

That was it as far as comments on what's happened before. Chris, you had some good rebuttals which I could answer but I won't. It is beating a dead horse. From now on I'll only comment on the program as it develops and I am certainly open to RESPECTFUL, CONSTRUCTIVE input, ideas and feedback.
First off - I have been nothing but respectful in dealing with you - you are caught between a rock and a hard place, with a tough job ahead of you. It is mess you have not created - but one that you are now in charge of cleaning up.

You can offer up as many rebuttals you want - but there is absolutely nothing that can be said to convince me that, in these hard economic times - any non-paintball related company will put forth any serious amounts of money for a sideshow that is not 100% backed by people who SHOULD believe in it.

Second - My first post in this thread was, in it's essence, a comment on the whole way things are done by and percieved by the Millennium organizers, my thoughts on X-Ball where only limited to Gyroscopes comment.

Third - I HONESTLY wish you luck - and will attempt to be constructive as much as possible.

Re: Re: Re: Steve

Steve, now normally, if somebody talks bollocks in posts that include something I have supposedly said or done, and I end up answering them and then they come back with more bollocks, I end it there, I can't be bothered with it all after that but with you, I will make an exception:-

Firstly, you try to give people the false impression that you had called a halt to proceedings after you had talked to Mag and me and then had emailed us both to notify us of your decision!
It did not happen that way.
You called me and asked me if there was any way I could think of to get team based Xball up and running in Europe.
I explained why you could not, u then called Magued and that was that !!
The resultant email did not in anyway reflect your account !!!!!

And secondly, don't do me any favours by treating me with kid gloves, I couldn't give a **** either way !!
Take em off Steve coz I ain't done f##k all wrong here apart from expose the lunacy and deceit behind of some of the board’s recent decisions.

And as for your desperate attempt to justify the relative playing merits of the Yanks after they have played in their X-ball series for a year as against our nations based fiasco producing teams who can compete, what utter bollocks !!!!
U call it a myth, I call u a fool !!!!
The Yanks are playing solely X-ball, they will be playing at a much higher level, they will be playing more games than us, they will concentrate all their resources on X-ball, they will live and die X-Ball...and as for us ????
Don't insult my intelligence or experience any more Steve !!!
You can’t reduce our differing statements to a difference of opinion for god’s sake, no more than u could reduce the beliefs of the flat earth society to having a differing opinion to those who believed it to be round.
I believe 2 +2 = 4,
Others might believe it to be 5, you gonna reduce that to a differing opinion?

The positive imperative that any person who speaks for the board must now have, should not have us all listening to this kinda propaganda crap.
It's counter-productive !!
Talk sense, be positive by all means, even try and make the best of a bad job, that I can understand but please don't tell me we can compete with the yanks or that Euro X-ball is going to be some great success just because you been handed some position or other by the Millennium Board.

C'mon, kidz.
I think at this stage we all have a fairly good idea of how we got here and what the Nation's Cup X-Ball will amount to. Put a happy face on it or not doesn't change anything.
As for who said what to whom and when, it pretty much just confuses the rest of us.
If y'all gotta scrap some more by all means--you know I like it--but at the end of the day just let it go. Free advice from Your Humble Moder8or :D

One More question Baca ok?

I just couldn't let it go.

Anyway quick question for Pete.
Having read lots of crap flying around at the mo about X ball maybe being in trouble already (Aftershock maybe walking away etc etc) I was wondering if you had a view (inside info) on what you think is going to happen in the States. Last time i checked you thought big money was going to go into the NXL. That was a couple of weeks ago.
So in conclusion i was wondering if you've heard anymore?

Cheers

Ken

X-ball and Mill had different economics, who this would benifit is still beyond me. By marketing I mean that I think I can sell the x-ball nations cup to media here in sweden for Joy Master.
Maybe I can get National TV to broadcast it? I sure as hell will get much more papers and journalists here when Sweden is playing USA. I didnt mean that swedish tv would pay me for it, but they may like it and want to have more.
Do you want a pice of that benifit if Denmark wins?

I sincerly think that a Nations cup can help Paintball to grow in Europe. Some people think that by marketing it by clubs instead of nations would be better. Im not, and most players I have talked to dont either.
The fee for the x-ball nations cup will be used for. Personal costs, infrastructure costs and a price for the winning team. I will make sure that every penny is counted for at the end. If we have 10 nations that pays 3000 euros. The total will be 30 000 Euros. ok?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Steve

Didn't mean to give anyone the impression I made and reported any decision. Not my intention. Just reported the answer that I was given after the discussion. Here is what I wrote:
_________________________
Nick and others,

I listened to Chris and Robbo and read the opinions of others, but in the end the program was already set and too late for any further changes. I sent Chris and Robbo an e-mail to that effect. I apologize if anyone feels I wasted their time.
__________________________

I didn't mean to imply that I listened and then made a decision. I listened, discussed the suggestions with Magued and then got his answer. Sorry if my wording was unclear.

'Nuff said about that.

Sure Euro X-ball ain't nothing compared to the NXL in terms of number of games and opportunities for serious practice. But I disagree that Euroteams will get hopelessly out of reach of the NXL. It is a question of time and money invested by talented teams.

To that end we plan to take the inititive for some serious X-ball team practice. Maybe starting with a Nordic/North Europe practice weekend, maybe Copenhagen, early spring? Invite the Germans, Russians, invite the British? Anyway, some ideas for more play.

I'm moving on to make the best out of things.

Baca, I hear ya and lower my guns !

Millhouse, as far as the NXL goes, it will be interesting to see what effect the recent performances of Shock and SC have on their respective owners.
The foundations of the NXL are not as secure as people would like them to be, certain people are now looking very seriously at the PSP circuit as a whole and are now for the first time questioning its suitability in hosting host X-Ball.
There are enormous pressures being applied to those people within the PSP / NXL, they come in the form of the Super 7's, the need to get TV and outside sponsorship up and running quite quickly, personality clashes within the groups and plus not only have these guys gotta run their respective companies, they now have to step up a few gears with regard to tournament promotion.
The latter requires a huge investment in time and money and what with everything else going down at the moment, the many hats these guys used to wear that at times bought huge benefits in terms of control and power, may well now be a burden that is just too much to bear.

Waddidiz, the reason for the tone of my posts is quite simple, I have had enuff of BS, I have enough of spin, I have had enuff of the Millennium board......Period !!!

And u know why I have had enuff of the Board?
Coz of its policy regarding situations like this.
They have left poor old Magued high and dry, he has had his bollocks chewed off time and again on here and none of this was his fault or his entire responsibility to answer.
They just hung him out to dry !!
Now, instead of coming on here and answering like men, they preferred to shuffle little emails around, plotting against me in trying to shut me up !!
Steve, to be fair, you have not been involved in any of this sh-t thus far, so coming in at this late stage is like trying to cheer up a graveyard and no amount of rhetoric is gonna change the state of things over here or what the board has done.
You have been put in an invidious position I know, but you are touching raw nerves when you try to adorn the headstones of team based X-Ball with pretty pictures.
Like you, I will now move on !

Robbo,

I underestimated how much all that's gone down has irritated you and now I understand better. I'll try to do my job and not bother you about it.
