Tukisilva, whats am B team doing in EXL ????

Wombles are okay, but compared to the pro's ???

EXL

Russian Legion
NEXUS
Ton Ton
Shockwave and/or Tigers
Ugly Ducklings
ENEMY

But some of these team has to go and get more team members if they want to play xball.

Whats the count on a complete squad 18-20 players in case some one should drop out or get injured.

Tontons
Mayhem Tigers
Joy Division
Russian Legion
Nexus
Ugly Ducklings (I hope)

This will leave some really good teams out in the cold - and will be a problem !

I believe the field should be broadened to include a Division 1 style X-ball tournament as well, with (at least):

- Syndicate (or other German team) - if they step up to Pro
- Cyclone (or other Finnish team) - if they step up to Pro
- NBK (or other Norwegian team)
- Another french team
- Possibly another British team (Shockwave)
- A Portuguese team
- Consilium Dei (if they step up to Pro)
- Possibly a polish team

It's in the best interest of paintball in Europe, to ensure as many countries as possible are represented in X-ball.

Nick
I totally agree with an open X Ball competition at every event (my personal opinion only) in order to let those who want to try it out and to provide a channel into EXL.

I also agree with your list but would like to see Shockwave in it somehow. Don't know who I would drop, however. I could also see the Norwegians fielding an EXL-competitive team.

Financial base including sponsorship obviously plays a major role here, often not in parity with abilities.

I disagree mate. The whole appeal for EXL would be the chance to catch up with the standard of play of the Yanks. Who would benefit by having Portugese or Polish teams in the frame when there are better PRO teams around who would get more out of it in playing terms? Are there even any Polish teams that play the whole Millennium series? They should start there rather than being thrown in at the deep end of European Paintball.

Robbo,

any inside info on what the mighty legion are up to, are they going to america and leaving a space for another team or are they staying euro side with the promise of two yank teams appeasing their appitite.

Based on everything but the facts.

It's hard to imagine what will happen if this does come off, because only a handful of people are "in the know" on this. If I had to guess, I'd say:

Russian Legion
Nexus
Joy Division
TonTons
Ducklings
Tigers or Shockwave

Once established though, that leaves some serious questions for the Millennium series:
1. Will EXL run concurrent to Millennium events? It would seem likely.
2. Will the pro division in 7-Man be eliminated? Or will the top Am's step up to fill the gap, despite not being truly pro caliber teams?
3. Will there be Division I X-Ball? And if so, what will that do to the team base in Am A and Am B?
4. After all is said and done, and the EXL teams are chosen, will everyone play nice with each other, or will there be a sponsorship war and a lot of bruised ego's that could cause the same damage that the US is seeing?
5. And most importantly, will the top teams make the switch to X-Ball, abandoning 7-Man?

Ultimately, it leaves a lot of questions for the future of the Millennium, and 7-Man, and the level of play that can be sustained.

I would have a division of the top 8 Euro AM A teams done by the final placing inthe overall Millennium Series. As it stands so far that would be:

Powertrip
Scalp
Syndicate
Shockwave Am
Cyclone
Malera
Ecstacy
Vision

Obviously the reffing points will totally change that list, but why not give the top 8 Am A teams the chance to improve in a Div 1 kind of tournament and have a promotion relegation each year whereby the bottom two teams are relegated and the top two Am A teams at the end of the series are promoted.
