Now... is it cos everyone else is laughing their arse off at the witty banter? Does everyone else not feel empowered to comment? Or is everyone else as thick as **** with no opinions.

there you go, there's the new friday poll.
Hey your not allowed in here Rancid this is a serious topic, unless your forming the Hamstead Heath Cruisers.

And I made a good point damn I must have been smoking sams drugs as well, or could this be the end to my spamming days..... I doubt it:p

I'm not going to take sides between which tournament will offer teams the best sponsorship deal from media exposure, but will there be any difference in peoples minds if for instance they read 'Manchester Extreme win blah-blah tournament' or ' Extreme, who are from Manchester, win blah-blah tournament'?

Any good journalist will say where the team is from or based- why should having the place name in your title make any difference?

But we're not dealing with a situation where we are reporting results to the media, rather we are seeking to get some media interest in the first place

If you go to the local paper saying "We're the Portsmouth City Paintball Team and we're wondering if you'd like to run an article on us" you'll get a better result than if you say "We're the Freaky Beagles, we play paintball, want to take our picture"

You've got to get your foot in the door first

I think we've got a chicken and egg thing here. I can see what you're saying, but why would the media give you any attention if you haven't done anything? I know this isn't necessarily the incentive, but if we look at paintball teams that have got into the papers so far, it's from their achievements. If you go to an editor saying you're the Portsmouth City Paintball team is he gonna run a story just on that? Wouldn't it be better if you said 'We've just won this tournament and we're from Portsmouth'?

Just interested in opinions here...;)

Well the local Portsmouth Paper (The News) already ran a big article on the university Team and when was the last time they won anything :p

The fact it was the local University made the story worthwhile... and probably a lack of real news that week :D

No, just small, backward islands will leap at the prospects tho it will soon devolve into street brawls as gangs of middle-aged beer-swilling fooligans fight over rights to just a handful of big cities once they all realize the big sponsor scores and PR attach only to the largest urban areas.
