I have no idea why myself in particular should be singled out but hey, I certainly don't blame the Millennium, they may be ultimately responsible but somewhere along the line, you have to trust the people who promise they can do a particular job.
The Millennium provide all prospective promoters with a book of requirements that have to be adhered to......in this case they obviously weren't adhered to.
As far as I was concerned, the EXL went ok 'ish considering it was the first event, the field was crap for sure and so was the site layout and many other things but all in all, I think it was the Millennium infrastructure that saved the day rather than the promoter.
Just my opinion....

what i'm getting at, is the judging is getting a lot tighter.
with the proper enforcement (generally) of 1-4-1s players are actually starting to call themselves out when they get shot, because it sucks being in the dead box with the dude you just got penalised.

It's harsh, but it's fair. Sometimes you get stung with a 1-4-1 that you shouldn't but for the most part it is changing the way that players act when they get shot, like they're thinking 'sh!t i've been shot, better get out quickly before the judge 1-4-1s me'.

The ownus is totally on the player now, if you get shot some place where you should notice, and you don't walk most judges will 1-4-1 you strait up. I even saw judges giving the players a chance to play on with body shots, and then penalising them!

And the thinking is sound, if you're playing Millennium Series events, and you can't tell if you've been shot, then you really suck, and shouldn't be playing paintball. Telling if it broke is another story, but that's why you call for a paint check.

No really, i think the judging is a lot better this year, the ultimate judges (pro judges) on each field really make a huge difference. Hats off to all the judges at Camp Masters, you guys did a great job, (but there's always room for improvement).

Amsterdam is a Millennium event and therefore I would guess it's gonna be a vast improvement.
I think the people who need to know what went wrong will already know the problems, in fact, I know they do.
Both Niall, Laurent are already aware of what went down and along with Steve's (Waddidiz) input, as well as anything we might suggest, I think it will be all good.
The judges need some work on tho I have to say, they worked their balls off in Paris and although some of their actions were inconsistent, I believe thier intent was to be professional.
As for the Millennium rep, I am sure it will survive ok, however if the Dam has any major problems, their rep may well suffer which is the very reason why it will be fine :)

Edited : Ooopss sorry Col, my terminology was awry.

just to clarify something
The main millennium events are the ones which existed last year, and the partner events are the ones that were added this year, events which were previously not millennium events.
Amsterdam is a Main Millennium Event, as is Toullouse, and Campaign Cup, as was Max Masters.

The Partner events are (were) Camp Masters, Iberia Cup, Norway, and Malaga Beach.

The Partner events are given full access to the millennium series assets, including netting, air via h-pac, scheduling by Beard, and Id Card/Registration via Karlijn, as well as the millennium name, which should mean to the players that there is a guaentee of quality (or at least there was until Camp Masters. The Millennium Series is trying to take a more hands on approach to tournament setup this year in order to bring all the events up the the standard of the main events, but if the Partner event Promoters won't use the help provided by the millennium series, what can the series do?

For Players, Amsterdam is a very good event to attend, as the Draxxus (Now the NPS crew) crew are very good with their setup. I have not doubt that the negative experinces of Camp Masters will not be repeated by Amsterdam. If last year is anything to go by, it will be a massive success.

See you all out there.

the marshals were, imo, very inconsistant. Some games they were harsh to the point where it was a joke. pulling players for taking one step after a hit. Once they pulled tommy i think it was for a member of the crowd (who was one of the shock boyz) coaching him!!!!!....and other games they let things go which would have earned some teams 5 mins in the box. In the TonTons - Joy game the TonTons hardly started a game with their guns touching the netting.

Be bad and make rubbish calls!!! just do it for everybody!!!!!

And please please use ur own head when pulling people, dont take the word of coachs....

peace out

i saw similar examples of this too.

Tommy should not have been pulled for 'coaching' that's the whole point of x-ball, and why the spectators are made to stand back from the side lines.

Steve Morris will no doubt make sure that the TonTons follow the rules to the letter in the future, as he has undoubtly read the complaints about them on the boards.

Most people don't have a problem with which way the rules enforced as long as they are consistent. Consistency is the key factor...
