When it has 'Seal Forward Technology (SFT)'!!! LMFAO, what a load of bollocks :)

Thanks to Acsik for pointing this out, I'll now copy over what he posted in another forum...

Originally in the '03 Shocker manual
The Shocker is an open bolt, seal forward marker. Seal Forward Technology (SFT) unique to the 2003 Shocker. SFT allows the shocker to be an open bolt marker, while still having the breach seal a spit second before the ball is fired, like a closed bolt
So in effect... it works just like every other open bolt gun :)

They all shoot just after the bolt seals the breech...

There's actually not even anything new or fancy in claiming it seals just before it fires and therefore emulates closed bolt... WDP claimed that with the Original Angel V6 back in '96/'97.

Anyway my reason for posting this in 'Speak Your brains' is I am wondering if such marketing BS and hype actually works. Do people believe it? and even more scarily do they believe it makes any difference?

had this conversation the other day

on what makes the matrix a closed bolt gun!? and is there any gun other than the cocker which is truly closed bolt.....what about the old shocker?
and i lost a 5p bet with sjt19 that the matrix is 'closed' bolt like the cocker, cos after what i've read i thought it was.

I believe...

"I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, in the small of woman's back, the hanging curveball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-induldgent, overrated crap. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening presents on Christmas morning instead of Christmas Eve. And I believe in long, slow, deep, wet kisses that last three days."

No wait, that's not me, that Was Kevin Costner wasn't it?

Gotta lay off tha mescalin...

Very simple, a closed bolt gun starts it's firing cycle with the breech closed off. An open bolt... anyone? anyone? Bueller? Starts it's firing cycle with the bolt open.

I think I am going to design a gun which starts with the bolt half closed just to confuse the hell out of both people and have the best of both worlds ;) .

The old shocker was a true closed bolt gun. So is the Mayhem and Autococker, all Pump guns, the Sovereign (Versions 1 and 2) and err... well I think there are more but can't remember them right now.

The Matrix is an open bolt gun but also claimed some spangly type of SFT rubbish to make people think it was a closed bolt gun.

In essence and in ALL honesty, every single gun fires from a closed bolt position... It's just that the bolt may have started the cycle in the open position or closed position.

And as for how much difference it makes to performance... diddly squat.

Whether the gun is open or closed bolt matters not, the design operation of the gun however does... (but that's a whole other thread and too time consuming to get into right now right here in this thread...) :D

Is it bull? yes.

Do people believe it? yes, some of them...

you only have to look at the amount of cockers are more accurate/fire further/straighter etc malarkey that goes on here...

It's time worldwide advertising standards agencies were set up to crack down on this if you ask me :D :D, and anti wrinkle face cream and plug in air fresheners etc etc

Marketing people will say anything, there's always people who will buy into hype without question...

since the matrix and shocker 03 are the same gun the shocker 03 is neither unique or closed bolt.
and closed bolt is not more accurate, before you all go believing that too.
only low pressure high air volume helps increase accuracy.
or as one wize man says, it's all fecking bollocks.
(prize for who guesses who i'm talking about first)
