To follow on to a degree from Furby's post I would also guestimate that this is partially the reason why Nexus haven't faired so well stateside...
Now this is just a theory, and I don't mean it to sound like I know (cause obviously I don't) but, how plausible do you think it could be that...
Dynasty have always been a team that moved about the field like mofo's, switching here, switching there. Nexus, perhaps to a lesser degree also employ that same all over the field bunker to bunker style. When I have seen them play they swap bunkers and push constantly to get the angle. Last year, it was a successful approach.
However...
This year most of the top teams in the NPPL are using markers with some type of Halo on top. Argue all you want but the simple fact is that Halo's are WAY quicker than any breed of Evolution loader. No matter how quick the marker, if the loader isn't piling the paint in quick enough then it's being held up.
Now, thanks to the evolved versions of the Halo's (v board, Empire, intellifeed) they can be reliably used all the time (last year most people said they loved the Halo but it was too tempermental to use consistently so opted for the safer (but slower) egg) and provide far greater firepower.
This greater firepower seems to see teams breaking far more conservitively than last season (well if the vids and DVD's I watch are anything to go by
) and just mowing lanes until they are up on numbers and then start to move and apply pressure.
So, are Dynasty (and perhaps also Nexus) finding it slightly more difficult this year due to the fact that current marker and loader technology/capability is rewarding the cautious/technical teams with most firepower and cutting up those less BPS equipped teams that have previously out manouvered teams to get their eliminations?
Obviously Dynasty are using Halo's too but they seem to be cut up on the move a lot more than last year where perhaps there was only 10BPS heading in and not 17BPS?
Plausible? Or a load of poo?
