What's wrong with Dynasty?

I know, y'all are gonna start whimpering about how fantastic a string of finals appearances really is and nothings really wrong with Dynasty, blah blah blah. I'm sure that's what the kidz will be saying on the long flight home, too. We're just happy to make the podium. Yeah, right.

So what's going on? Why is 2005 not more of 04 and 03 before that?
Is the Shockers?
Too many players? Just how do they shuffle their roster these days?
Too many chiefs, not enough Indians?
Could it be Felix?
Maybe they're playing too much?
Or dividing their energies between 7-man and Div 1 X?
Is everyone else all of sudden miraculously better?
How do they lose 2 straight to an Arsenal team with two guest players (even the Halmones)?

Extra Credit Bonus Question: And as an unrelated aside, has Arsenal sold its collective soul to the devil? I've watched them play and I don't know how they win as often as they do. They look slow and ugly, yet they keep on winning games, what's up with that?

As any experienced player knows, the gun makes a massive difference, they shouldn't have switched, and the freelance gypsies employed to curse their new contract are obviously worth their weight in stolen gold fillings, car tires and caravans.........:D

The gap between the top teams is closing because everyone is training so much and working on those skills that give 'the edge' with practise. When Dynasty first started smashing up the mill series, they were pretty much the only team to break 7 guns up, accurate shooting and moving both hands etc, constantly keeping people in etc etc......Now you even see some novice teams imitating that style and that extra edge that made them special just aint all that anymore.

Oh and the spoilt for choice when choosing the playing squad thing..

I would say that the other pro's are now improving and making it harder for Dynasty.

On the Arsenal subject i aint gotta clue either

I suppose winning is winning even when you dont look good (but it does help winning and looking good:) )

Seems like more and more pro teams are taking the game seriously. More training and such. Used to be that Dynasty was the only team that played as often as they did, now it's like most teams have similar regimes.
Obviously the guns don't help either ;)

Bonus question: I guess it's like the Oakland Raiders of old. They played ugly, but they played hard and they won. Also, I get the feeling that Arsenal was created with only one goal in mind: Beat Dynasty, no matter the cost.

Or like Tiger Woods they set a standard so high for themselves early on that not even they could possibly continue to live up to it. There's a reason why records are records: nobody's been able to do as well before and nobody had/has since. Apparently that's the best they could get to, they reached it, and that was the end of that tune. People and teams have their heyday, and Dynasty's started and ended.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
A comment was heard over the weekend from a player saying " I don't want this anymore I want proper paint!"

If you bullets are bouncing you are going to have a hard time winning!

Just what I heard you understand :D

Probably a case of all the above.

However, has anyone actually seen them having problems with their shockers in games? Just curious. Besides the full auto incidents in Maxs...?

I wouldn't be suprised if the Zap paint (which as I understand is what they are shooting for European events) is giving them problems. I used Zap stuff a lot last year with another team and it was like shooting powerballs!

I would imagine that the bigger roster is definately taking it's toll though. Both in terms of team work on field (not enough of a tight unit anymore) and personal security (will I be playing? do the guys think I am **** etc?) off. I can't help wondering if this year (perhaps the off season) will see the first big name transfers from the Dynasty camp. Maybe even Oli will sling his gun elsewhere!
