Like the mortgage:rolleyes:

And selling all your kit to play is like a crackhead selling his pipe to buy crack;)

I've been blowing my spare cash on this sport for a long time:rolleyes: but still can't play as often as I like, and look at all the people selling up all their kit at present- seems like a thread a day at the mo:(

Not really mate, it's pretty damn easy to raise enough money to train most weeks and afford 2 - 3 events a month..... you just have to be prepared to give other things up.

Depends how much you want it!
I work full time, my girlfriend works part time.

We don't smoke, we don't drink. we don't run a car, we don't have sky. We have rent and bills to pay though and that doesn't leave enough money for us to "train most weeks and afford 2-3 events a month". The people that can afford to do that either have very well paid jobs or live with mummy and daddy.

I suppose I could stop eating, or live in a cardboard box or something.

And selling your kit? well, you can only do that once.

bah paintball is still seen as a "1st sunday of the month" sport to about 99 percent of ppl in this country, but for the 1 percent who actually want to get better by training i think they do pretty well. Shock have been doing great in the CPL, Nexus and Tigers not so much but im sure they have different reasons. Kellys are looking at promotion (fingers crossed) to CPL next season, South Coast Stealers got a 4th at Paris in DIV 1. Stealers am arent doing too bad in div 2 coming 6th and got one 3rd place. Outbreak have had 2 1st places and a 2nd and are in 2nd overall by a couple of points. The in m-5 we are coming first after getting a 1st in paris.
You cant really complain with those results considering the lack of teams actually playing the events, so why are we bothered about the teams that dont wanna play it when the teams that are playing are doing pretty well on the hole??

I agree with sabianfan about the "1st Sunday of the month" thing. Problem is, Paintball is not etablished over here as a professional sport. People see it as a game that people play for a laugh on a sunday with a group of mates.

And only 28 teams out of 100? That is just not on. As Robbo said, it's not about the winning, it's all about the taking part. Heck, If I had the money, I would probably train every other weekend and take part in the MS. I wouldn't mind if I lost- as long as my team enjoyed it and got some experience, I would be happy.

If Paintball tournaments were advertised more, rather than being confined to specialist forums and those in the sport, then I think more people will be encouraged to play and, maybe one day, play for their nation.

£350 for 12 games of paintball at Professional level? Bargain!

(Quick question- how much is it to spectate at Campaign?)

It is down to life choices though? You have chosen to move in with your girlfriend, to have your own place and perhaps work towards the meaning of life?

If your only goal in life was to play millennium series paintball, you would leave all of those things behind, but its not. And of course theres nothing wrong with that.

Or maybe ive got the wrong end of this stick, but i think its somehow relevant.
