I agree this is a big issue. Not enough judges know all the rules. Every Judge, including the ultimates need to reread the rules before each event. You wouldn't want one of the ultimates trying to enforce out of date rules would you

It's the responsibility of the judges, but it's also the responsibility of the promoters to remind them.

OI!

I think I rather object to the ´rather rotund´comment Rory!! I am happier with the term cakely-challenged!!

As for the incident them I have little to add. I know the rules very well and was asked to confirm the Field Ultimates suspicion of TB. Following the test layed down in the rules I tested the maker. It failed one of the tests. As per the rules, the Ultimate was called and the final decision was left to him. I will add that I was not the field ultimate on field 2 (my team was moved from field 3 for the finals to assist the judges, who were already doing a fine job).

And everyone, I really wish that players spent a little time reading the rules before they play. It is a lot easier to play within the rules when you actually know what they are. It is not just the judges who would benifit for some understanding of the rules that govern our sport.

Ignorance is no defense. This goes for judges and players alike, I was fairly astounded at the number of well-known players who didn´t know the Millennium rules yet have played every event this year!

ps. Just a quick note of thanks to the judges with me on field 3 - you guys worked your butts off all weekend and did a brilliant job. Thank you.

No sooner said....:D

Now it seems that these points have been clarified, we can put this one to bed.

As for competent judging, I would nominate his Scuttness as an ultimate to be honest, but as for how you get a higher standard of judging across the board, the last time we had a competent body of Judges in the UK (UKPSF course, and it was hard!) player apathy led to its ultimate demise!

As for paying, never a gurantee of quality, just a better chance of having bodies to do it, but thats another thread!

As for Hypnotise I do in some respects sympathise on your bad luck. but I guess you should realise that it all fairness, your player caused the teams faliure to win. A lesson to all teams can be learnt from reading this thread.

Know the rules - play within them, or the consquences can be expensive.

Peace all

You tested the maker! Stop thinking about your tasty Mr Kipling snacks and focus Scutty! you tested the 'MARKER'!!!!!

:D :p :D

The marker did not go fullauto or bounce tested the way the rules say. No f***ing way. This is horse****. I know nothing can be done now, but you were wrong. So freakin wrong. I have the marker right here at home and nothing is done to it wont be done. Have tested it like 50 times(and other people have too) and it wont bounce when tested like it should as recommended in millennium rules. You cant determine that a gun bounces by shooting strings and telling that it shoots too many balls. Just because a player shoots rapidly means it bounces? I know its too late but i just want to make a point.

ITS NOT BOUNCING AND IT DIDNT AT CC EITHER!

Over and out

Ok,

I don't want toget into a "did it, didn't it" arguement over this but MrCosworth you have to understand that, at the end of that game, when I was handed that marker it failed test 4 of the rules governing trigger bounce as stated in Millennium Rules Ver 1.2 Section 11.3. The test was applied as stated in the rules and more than a single shot was achieved. There is no malice here and there can be no bias as the judges on the field have no say as to the final decision. The rules state that the Ultimate must decide, not the onfield judges.

I think it a sad way to be penalised as you guys played really great 'ball all weekend (as you were frequent visitors to my field I got to see a lot of your games).

I'm not sitting there trying to convince all that will listen that i've been wronged. I have a life outside of paintball.

I went the pub, taken her indoors out for a meal, been to a football match, helped my daughter move house and ridden my extremly powerful fireblade at some very scary FPS.

Every on field judge who is on line, has come on here and said that it was bouncing, but of course they would say that wouldn't they. They got to stick together otherwise it will prove something else was going on,in your twisted weiv on things.

Here's a question for you Mrcosworth.

After i tested the gun, what did Ralph do Next ?

Before you answer, bear in mind that you stated that you were
' TOLD' that i had not fired a gun for 18 months which i had to correct you about.

I know! You called for Notorious to go to field 7! :D

Seriously, I can't see why MrCosworth keeps insisting that the marker was legal, some two weeks after the penalty was issued:rolleyes:

To my eyes, it discredits the performance of his team (who played some serious Hardball in the games I saw:cool: )
