Then you should read again, coz it’s a post about freedom for you to do whatever you want with your life and your game, if that doesn’t interfere with the game.

If defending freedom for you to choose your way instead of looking the other way or ignoring that this things happen in your game, its stupid, them ye, im the stupidest guy you ever replied to.

Next step : Don’t aloud anyone to smoke in the players area.
Then, no one with long hair.
And finally, no one at all.

I say, if you still can do your job properly after smoking some joins or drinking some beers, no problemo.

Right....Like I want some dude smoking a "J" before he takes the field? Anyone sticking up for this crap has gotta be wasted.

Yup, I want a ref whose high, calling a game for my team. "whoa dude , man, nice move dude........who shot who first.......I dunno....it was wild dude" WTF, you cannot be serious, we must have some standard of rule.

Uh, just about everything has been illegal somewhere at some point in time. Various religions, alcohol, books, sexual habits and positions, forms of clothing, leaving one's house at certain times of day, spitting, chewing out loud, various jokes, riding a horse backwards...I've even seen a law on the books in my home state against carrying an ice cream cone in your back pocket! Similarly, a lot of practices totally unacceptable here today were perfectly legal in the past: killing one's spouse for little or no reason at all, murder on the basis of race and/or religion, various forms of censorship, torture, open bribery of law enforcement, government by the clergy, etc. Is legality then a rational standard at all for the rightness or wrongness of anything? No.

Further, yeah there are plenty of people that shouldn't be smoking pot before doing anything around the paintball field, but there are on the other hand there are equally as many you don't want to be around at all unless they have.

Im not talking about publicity or refs getting high. Since the beginning im saying IF THEY STILL CAN DO THEY JOBS

Naked people running in public is illegal, but every time it happens in a pb event (curiously twice in Portuguese MS) people laugh and, oh man, it gets publicity in the sites and magazines and no one condemns it .
So where do we draw the line ?

Penalize the ones who give a bad image to the sport or cant to the job properly? Ye sure.

Penalize the ones who just increase their adrenalin and fun by doing it ? Hell no.

Turkisilva, I don't know about you, but the last time I smoked pot (a facking long time ago I must add) all I wanted to do was eat the entire contents of the fridge and sleep, and in between I couldn't have cared two ****s about anything; hardly condusive to judging high paced, critical events on the paintball field involving paying customers.

That's just on one level, on another, I don't think I really wanna see bong carrying judges spaced outa their frikkin eyeballs as acceptable behaviour for any young kids coming into the sport.

You allow that, what next?
A couple of scag-head judges jacking up in the judging tent ?

Drinking alcoholic beverages is legal in most places in Europe, and possession of cannabis has been de-criminalized in some place, but that doesn't mean that it o.k. to do a demanding job, drive a car or fly an airplane while intoxicated. "As long as they can do their jobs." Bull****. I suppose we can say that to airplane pilots, machine operators or football referees. Whoever thinks this must be on wine or smoking something.

Your freedom stops where it starts to trample on me. Do what you want in the off-hours (I will), but I have a right to decent reffing as a player. I have a responsibility to watch out for that right for our league as a part of the organization (and so do all of you if you want this sport to grow and be considered legit).

Consuming intoxcants or medications that make one drowsy is totally UNACCEPTABLE during participation in any real sport.

Very simply: if I witness any team drinking alcoholic beverages or consuming marijuana or any other kind of intoxicant at a tournament that I play or work in, count on the fact that I will either try to get that team suspended (worth at least a year's suspension in my opinion) or, if I play, demand my money backif the promoters don't remedy the situation.

One out of 5 judging teams with stoned players? An outrage. Shame on any team that does this!

Why 'try'? You're not telling me there's no rule covering this?

I have never read anything that comes near this in stupidity on these boards! Man, if this is your opinion, and that you are seriously arguing abot drugs being allowed at tournament you must be nuts! If we were to run tournaments with your attitude, we might well end up with a big drug fest! No man, go to Jamaica and stay there. Ya man! :D
