OK, two questions:
Were tha US/UK ever gonna lose that war?

Is a victorious president going to lose tha next election? Dude, we love a good war...

If Dubya's dad is anything to go by, yes, a victorious president can lose an election....He had pretty good ratings after GW1, but got his ass whooped a year later by Billy Bob Clinton.

Gulf Wars II: Clone of the Attack. :D

I'm getting sick and tired of people getting on the case of the US of A!
You all shout how evil we are for going in to Iraq, but as soon as the **** hits the fan in Europe, you all start begging us to move in with our firepower. WWI and II are good examples, as are more recent conflict in Yugoslavia. If you don't want us to be the world's policeman, stop asking us for help! God, I can see why my ancestors were so anxious to leave that backwards-ass continent!

hooooooraaaah! You'll find that many of the Europeans on this site are very thin skinned. They can talk all day about the horrible things done by the US. However, they're more than happy to ignore their own ample history of bloodshed and genocide.

Dude you really need to chill. I am not in any way knocking the USA, I am knocking your President, and my Prime minister.

Oh and by the way you didnt help us out as you put it, we were allies. Not one of us would have won the war by ourselves. And I certainly feel that it was in the the interest of the USA to get involved so please cut the "you owe us big time for saving your asses" routine. Its been done so many times now and its boring as hell.

With only a year and seven months on the job, I don't think there was a lot that could have been laid on GWB's head.

Theres no better way to get the public off your back than by having a war. Everyone puts on the patriotic hat and anyone who questions the government is branded a commie or a Arab lover or a traitor.
It's sure working out that way here.

Woodrow Wilson, Churchill, Truman (lost control of congress in '46), Adlai Stevenson (Truman's VP lost to Ike), and George H. W. Bush (Cold War & Gulf War victor) would all answer yes.

Oh and pgaglio you will note that I have always included the UK when bitching about the lies told to us about the gulf war. We are as much to blame for the worlds problems as the US is (OK maybe not as much as the US but we are close :D )

I'm with Crom - I dislike Bush and Blair and I often dislke US and UK foreign policy, but I'm as anti-american as I am anti-german or anti-senegalese...i.e. not at all.

Shame that those of us who have been enjoying (enduring?) this debate over many months - Mark, Headrock, Crom, Buddha and many more - are able to respect each other and our differing viewpoints, and it's the ill-informed idiots who jump in shooting their mouths off who arew the only ones spouting any anti-anycountry bull****...

Puh-leeeeeze!

I guess I could have expected these responses, but honestly, think about it. Why do you think so many people wanted (and still want) to come over here? Because Europe was so much more fun? Don't think so.
And the good thing is that you guys are beginning to realise this too. Just look at the Belgian government. They changed their legislation this week, concerning prosecution of citizens of another country, simply because we, the US, told them that it was unacceptable to us, because it enabled some idiot to file charges against BW Bush (for example) out of sheer spite. And since Belgium realises that it's stupid to get us pissy, they changed the law! So basically, ya'll pretty much do as we say anyway. So STFU and fetch me my slippers, damn eurotrash.
