Isnt part of the problem ,if it is a "problem ",that as someone said that tournie ball has evolved too far away from the rental/woods market?? Surely this is an expression of the players ethos to paintball. All those days of training rather than more games, expensive guns ,trekking across Europe toshoot 20mins game time, all point to folk who are win oriented and seek to test themselves at the highest level .As opposed to 40£ for a day,s fun and a burger twice a year at the other end of the spectrum. It is a testament to the sport that has developed the top so far from the bottom, that the two can even be considered as reconcilable! A div 3 millenium player is no closer to a walk on woodsballer than a CPL pro ,he just hasnt climbed as far as he would like yet.Any player of any sport welcomes that feeling of "family "and "belonging " logically will seek to unify their sport. The only problem being even if you were to find this magic formula ,would you want a rec player competing with a Tournie baller? The risk of alienating the one while not engaging the other is an potentially expensive one .At one event last year 5 guys went toa scenario game just for a fun weekend ,ended up with an angry marshal ordering them back to base despite all being clean as it was just carnage .the other team did not make one single objective and lost by a record margin .Not something to pull your punters in .This is a complex problem and
i suspect may not have a soloution.
