What is it that Redz have actually achieved?

8 in HB
DQ in Tampa
11 in Denver
9 in Vegas
5 in Malaga
22 in San Diego

Not exactly results to set the world on fire. Avalanche who were Am last year achieved SO much more than that (HB 2,Ger 2, Tampa 7,Denver 4, LV 5, Malaga 9, SD 6). Its a great effort for a first season as pro for Redz, but surely they cant be the team of the season!

sjt19 - What exactly have you accomplished?

I played with the Redz Factory team last year and had a horrible year then I had the oppurtunity to play with the new factory team the Redz Hurricanes and this year has been enjoyable. We accomplished what many said we couldn't, (make the cut) even when we had setbacks as a team and individually. You have not see any team members post on here just our supporters. Seven of our 9 members had no 7 man experience, let alone pro experience. All members except myself and Carmen played novice (division 2 x ball the previous year) They stuck with the program and are now able to reap the rewards. As you see our goal was to make the Sunday club at every event and except our Tampa mishap (which we owned up to and accepted) and our crappy event in San Diego we accomplished our goal and made the top 50% of the elite NPPL pro division fo next year. I am in now way saying we set the paintball world on fire but for having a bunch of (unknowns) except "The Angry", we held our own as our first year pro team. As you also notice I will also sign my name to all my posts so I would like to ask you again my first question, what have you accomplished? I am actually flattered we were even suggested as a team of the season. Do I think we are the team of the year (compared to avalance no) but we accomplished our goal and if others think we are then so be it. Hopefully next year we can build upon this years accomplishments and make our fans, supporters and sponsors even happier.

Apart from qualifying for the top 18 as well, nothing notable but then that is hardly relevent, but you have not achieved anything notable neither. As you said that most of your team was Novice/ am last year, so was mine. We took on 13 new players at the start of the year (none of whom had ever played pro,or in the USA) to get where we are now (similar to what you gys have done.....

If you re read my post i wrote:

"Its a great effort for a first season as pro for Redz". So i recognied that you had done well, just not as well as some of the other teams in the list.

If you are inferring that i do not then i think you will find that pretty much everyone on here knows who i am, i do not hide behind an alias.

Was I talkin' to you, Boo?
If I have something specific to say to a poster, particularly if it is off topic, I add an edit. Since only a Mod can do it, it makes it less likely to be taken as an OK for everyone to post whatever they want. Also, it won't bump a thread up when the added commentary isn't pertinent to the thread subject. There's a whole bunch more reaons too but you'll just have to take my word for it, 'kay?

That, and I do it 'cus I can. :D

The other Mods do it now 'cus they want to be cool, like me.

I think Infamous, Russians and Arsenal all have shouts.
Infamous and Russians have been explained and I think voting for those teams is completely justified.
Dynasty were the team of 2002 and 2003, but you would have to argue that they were not THE team of 2004

Arsenal are playing thier fist year as a team, chalked up a first in Madrid and finished 5th I think in the NPPL. I think its an angle and I voted for them, although I think there are at least 4 teams who could have a shout at it, including Avalanche.

EDIT ADDED: C'mon, Gyro. Do you really think Jeff called up the guys and said hurry over to P8ntballer and vote for Redz? It's not like this is 'Staying Power' or anything like that. :) TFP
It isn't Staying Power, but old habits die hard.:) Besides, I never thought Jeff was behind it, I always thought it was a single deranged fan...

In all seriousness, congratulations to Redz. I just don't think that impressive performance alone makes for a team of the year: I think that impressive performance that has some meaning beyond just winning, actually changing things for other teams makes for a more deserving team of the year. Russian Legion and Infamous both have some claim to that description.

Arsenal has had a great year- I never thought they would stay together for two events, let alone be a podium regular!
