Wasn't XSV the first en-masse NXL defection though? albeit the weren't in the same strength of league position as ME were when they left, and it wasn't a whole team, more like 90% of the members.

Wouldn't that be either Avalanche... a group of players who went from top am to top 4 pro or Redz... a group of players who went from novice to a 9th place pro team?

Agreed, redz made major improvements over the season, trust me i was at their first practice at Del Hobbies. I expect them to make even more improvements and finish even stronger in 05.

Beaker, I'll grant that XSV were first, but they didn't have the same impact. There are probably a few reasons for that. They were a group of players who were always a little skeptical of Xball and the NXL in particular, they never achieved much success in the NXL, they seemed to me to be quiting the moment before they were fired. I am happy as hell for them now- I always felt it was a good group of players, and they deserve success. But the NXL teams were not going to follow these malcontents anywhere.

By contrast, Miami Effect seemed to be true believers, had some success competing in the NXL and in fact played for the guy who came up with the whole Xball of wax. When they defected, other teams seemed to say to themselves "why not us" and the NXL relented.

Of course, the NPPL helped the process with the whole relegation/ limited pro division rule.

I completely agree, and the ME league position before they left shows they weren't exactly struggling.

Anyway, I voted Avalanche because of the step up they made this year without major roster changes. To me Infamous were great in one league and they are now great in another, but I'll give them props for having the guts to do what they did. But Avalanche were not the worlds best Am (had no Tramua year in '04), but they are up there with the best Pro's this year and are not an easy draw for anyone.

I voted Dynasty, purely because they have proved to be the best team in the world (again), won both the 7 man crowns in every league, and won the Xball Div 1 section. beaten by the russians in Nemacolin, they returned at WC and showed everyone that they were the best in the world.

A true team in every sense of the word.

Avalanche were a close second. At every event i have seen them in this year, they have played closer to the Dynasty style of play than anyone. Winning the Chicago Xball was a great achievement for a bunch of guys who were Am last season. Hopefully they will become even more of a powerhouse team next season.

Redz

It's gotta be the team that comes from absolutely nowhere. Redz deserves this more than any other. Imagine what they're going to do next year...

That's a ton a new posters supporting Redz... or a ton of the same guy? Vote early, vote often!

EDIT ADDED: C'mon, Gyro. Do you really think Jeff called up the guys and said hurry over to P8ntballer and vote for Redz? It's not like this is 'Staying Power' or anything like that. :) TFP

PS--guys, don't be strangers now that you're here. ;)
