Speak English Boy!

Rather spend my time doing better things than taking a lot of care in my presentation of a post on a internet message board... 
Typing speed is relevent when I want to spend a few seconds replying to a quick or pointless post.
And anyway. Free speech on the internet. At least I'm talking English and not French!

As Buddha says, this is a forum. It isn't here just for you to chat with your mates but to post stuff for others to see. As such, you should be considerate of those other people. No-one is expecting perfect spelling or grammar from everyone, just a little consideration. Oh, and posters taking the time to check that what they have typed is a) comprehensible and b) of SOME value to others!
Is it really that important to save a couple of seconds here & there? Surely it's more important that what you write gets read and understood by the people it's aimed at. Look at the people on the forums who's view is considered valuable by others, none of them uses shorthand abbreviations (apart from technical ones like bps/fps).
As for talking English rather than French! Well the "foreign" posters on these forums write better English than many of the English posters, and write in that language because that is the language of the P8nt forums. Note that - ENGLISH, not txt shorthand. And as for freedom of the internet, your freedom is to use a site that is happy to accept shorthand over comprehensible english. Buddha is a mod here, and has the right to say what does & doesn't go.

Ok sorry for arguing, I didn't mean in the context of tlkn lik dis al d time, but more like things like "were" instead of we're. Anyway... check the classifieds... almost everyone uses some shortenings. Anyway I'm out of this thread now, can't be bothered to argue anymore. Have fun .
