So much for the ticker tape parade...

Jesus, I go away for two weeks and look what happens...my independent enquiries over a bottle of wine this evening have revealed that Manike was actually Joe's inside source and he has done the decent thing and topped himself, with only an orange and a gimp mask for company.

Now the PGI staff will set-up a kangaroo court in the morning and hang Joe out to dry, thus washing our hands of the whole nasty mess...

Alternatively, we are very aware of the situation, it's not new news, and we've spoken to various parties...as the guys have already said, we will run stuff in here and in the mag when we have a clearer idea of what's actually going on, cos we've heard a lot of different things from a lot of different people who are/will be/might be involved now and in the future.

New site's working OK then I see. Thank ****.

Is it just me or could smart parts use this patent to take over companies such as wdp and then in turn own the patents to the angel etc?

Not possible mate. WDP are a UK based firm and therefore US patents cannot be enforced so I'm told. Only thing SP could do is enforce a patent tax when WDP import gear to the US.

Where the company is based has nothing to do with it.

Where the company exports and sells it's products to is what matters.

WDP sell something around 80% of their stuff to the USA IIRC.

They could theoretically stop WDP selling into the USA and anywhere else they have their patents (wouldn't suprise me if they were going for World Wide patents...) or ask for a royalty when WDP sell or import into the USA.

If SP only have a USA patent then no they couldn't stop WDP making and selling stuff elsewhere (UK etc).

Now if WDP loses 80% of their marker sales what would happen?
