So instead of giving one big battery making two smaller batteries that would last a case or two but would charge really quickly so you could play with one and charge one then switch after the game but before the next. And you could still have the big ones for scenarios or you could sell extra little ones so someone could swap in the middle of a game. http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74291&highlight=batteries Like these but maybe lighter and made by AGD so they don’t mess up the warranty.

Can't see the patent sticking, it definately impedes development of the industry/invention. Be pretty much like patenting the trigger and rendering everything from hairdryers to nail-guns infringements on your invention.

Then again, we pay over the odds for absolutely every piece of kit we buy, so maybe they will get away with it.

rancid

Mother, is that you?
Why SP won't just stop at ICD or WDP.

What happened two years ago?

oh and that's a fact you can easily verify!

Alright matey, I think you're over compensating. They were your words after all (unless the rumours are true and we are now talking to a different dnaf. :p) , i just cut and pasted.

Trouble is now that they are granted you need big money and good lawyers to go into court and prove that.

It's the American way, he with the most money and best lawyers wins :D

I can neither confirm nor deny (because basicly it wasn't sent to me) but this is 'rumoured' to be the latest e-mail from Spesh addressing someone's concerns.

Hey Guy,

As for the lawsuit it’s really not up to me. But I do know this, it’s been going on now for a couple of years. This didn’t happen over night. Smart Parts went to every company out there with electronic gun at the time and sat down and talked to each one of them trying to keep it from going to court. But every one of them said go **** yourself. Paintball is growing and will continue to grow and just like the guy who invented the tennis racquet and gets royalties off each one Billy and Adam feel they should be with there invention of the Electronic gun. When they first told people about it, they took so much criticism and said it couldn’t be done and it would never work. They tried to keep it simple and not take it to court but no would give credit where credit was do. Sorry but In a way I do agree with them I just think it could have been done different. I hope people who are in business can see why this has been done, Thanks. Smart Parts

Damn dnafwtbtitft

that is just overkill! You made your point, but can you also see where rancid and others were coming from! It isnt helping coming on here and saying things without backing everything up, as people start guessing and things get blown even more out of proportion!

Everyone has heard something from someone who knows so and so, and thats great but if they cant reveal it why say it. The reason noone has heard more than the one release from smart parts is because they CANT say anything that might affect their position in court!

All I am saying is until we hear something firm from either party or until the court case. Lets keep it to what has been said!

I mean i have been told (whoppee) that they arent going after the switch but are enforcing a patent on a feed tube with ICD! Now that would blow everything else out of the water here.

But it doesnt matter what has been heard or rumoured. Unless it can be backed up, and the only back up lets face it is from smart parts, let it lie.

It is an interesting time at the moment! And it is also great to see how when something that could affect this sport in an adverse way everyone has come together! Hey we keep this up can anything get in the way of Paintball - the olympic sport :D

I'm not sounding off at you at all! But rumours dont help, even if they arent you have said yourself you cant put anything further to them! See my point?

With incredible timing my August PGI (issue 173) arrived on my doormat this morning. Relevance?

The 4 page interview with the Gardners!

How ironic!

Paintpimp mentions them talking to 'Hollywood types', they have according to the article, I quote:

"We have the movie, we have the television and we have the league - all three are moving forward"

Since when did they 'have the league' I thought it was Richmonds?

Another direct quote from the article:

"The Gardners know that by growing the sport they will be growing their business. Because they're involved with so many different aspects of the sport at such a high level, the decisions that Billy and Adam make will eventually filter down to affect us all."

Too right it effects us! or more importantly healthy business competition.

Did they hint at something when they did this interview that PGI glossed over?

How come no one from PGI has made comment on here regarding the article or defended them even? They might have more of an insight into what the Gardners had in mind? Or is this a classic case of a magazine (on a tight budget) not wishing to offend one of its advertisers ( 3 pages this month)?

Joe Carter wrote the article, any response, even to tell me to stop being paranoid?

why the hell are they doing this .. the only reason i can think is that smart parts are losing money FAST , due to development of Shocker 2k3 and nerve...??? and that they are trying to do anything possible to keep it from going into administration ??
