Seems to me that one of the major points of the PA league was that there was going to be SKY coverage. Thats what teams would have said to sponsors and outside industry sponsors. The sky coverage validated the decision by some players to enter their teams into the PA league rather than other leagues who were holding events on the same day.
The fact that Sky were not there is a bit off. Were people told in advance of entering the series that sky would only be at the third event onwards? If they had would as many teams have entered?
A cynic may say that the Sky carrot was dangled as a means to entice teams away from other leagues, when in actuality nothing had been agreed.
What happends when the sponsors of teams turn around and acuse the teams of lying about the Sky sports involvement?
Sorry? What a load of absolute crap! When did you get appointed to the PA comittee without me noticing? As that's the only way you would know fully what's going on. But wait...is this yet another attempt to sow the seed of discord and discredit the PA and turn me into a liar? Certainly reads like one!
Right. Lets get this clear right from the off, kick these lame accusations into touch and address them as what they appear to be...
Fact. Sky coverage was NEVER one of the major points of the PA league. It was a bonus that came as result of the PA league and all the frkkin hard work we've put into trying to elevate the status & awareness of paintball, rather than just raping the players wallets for a quick profit.
Fact. Not one single team registered with the PA as a result of the Sky Sports announcment. Nearly all the teams were either already talking to us or already booked. So the accusation that we used it to "steal" teams from other series is b*ll*cks!
Fact. Only 1 team registered after this anouncement that wasn't already talking to us and they were thinking of coming on board anyway. Accusation is therefore still b*ll*cks!
Fact. There is a deal in place to put the PA league on Sky Sports. What kind of half wit moron thinks I'm actually stupid enough to approach potential sponsors with a claim like that and not be able to back it up?
Fact. I've already said several times that we didn't invite them to the first event, and probably not the second event either as we knew we'd have a lot of teething troubles to iron out. Hence the reason they weren't there. The idea is to present a slick professional image, preferably in nice sunny weather and also give all the teams a chance to get their nice new shirts beforehand.
Fact. We never even hinted that the entire series would be covered. What we said was it would be featured on Sky Sports. If that happens to be at 2am on a Thursday morning for the same 6minutes & 27 seconds like the European indoor got 4 years ago then so be it.
So it "seems to me" that either a) you really don't know what you're talking about or b) trying to find an angle to discredit myself, the PA and everyone who's worked so hard to support it.
I actually wasn't going to espond to this post, but then I thought why the hell not.
Might I suggest you check your facts before shooting your mouth off? You never know you might actually learn something...oh and don't EVER call me a liar which seems to be the intimation of your post. If I say I'm doing somwething..I frikkn well do it.
