I was just thinking about it, and realised that they were a new league, battling with established leagues, and needed every edge and selling point in order to get teams to book in. The Sky thing would certainly not have harmed them, and would have been the balance between teams choosing what league to play.

I think that the vagueness when the details were revealed was designed to merely get teams to book in.

Am feeling cynical;)
I cant comment on any contract or definate of the Sky deal but I am sure Hatts will clear that up.

And a healthy dose of cynacism is fine but the PA were already going to be able to run an event Sky or no Sky.

Its not their fault if people felt they had to leave the leagues they were playing because they might get on TV.

And Hatts will say on the selling point issue he has been selling this on many other issues other than Sky.

I agree that the Sky thing would not have harmed them but it did not mean people were going to listen and it did not guarentee loads of new teams.

For me it was the best run and organised event I have played but yes I have not played all the international paintball many people here have.

Im still struggling to see how tournament ball will come across on TV and appeal to NON paintball players. Hell i've seen a few videos mysefl and thought they were boring - and i live for the sport!

Regardless of how the event was Tom, The PA League was billed as bein televised, and i know peopl ehwo are playing it over the PGI Central 7's because of that televisation factor. The PA did ot say when they announced it that there would be no involvement till the 3rd leg. That was misleading, and a clever bit of marketing to gain teams.

sjt19 - sorry, I think you are constuing events and facts here.

If teams decided to play the series because of TV coverage they should of checked what it was before signing on surely??

I agree with Burb, I am yet to see any evidence of pball making interesting TV so don't really give a monkeys about TV or not...

i think u kinda right but not really on the point that im talking about.

i think that if a tournament is put on, like the pa it will pull teams, as the pa did. even without sky its an exciting prospect.

BUT.....and here is my point/question/whatever.........

When a team went to a company saying "give us stuff" and the company sed "why??" the fact that ppl could say that the company would/could get sky tv coverage WILL have been a big factor for the company. Forget the players and teams for a moment but what about the out of paintball ppl who are backing the teams????

say there is no sky tv thing in the end, what happens then next year when teams go back to companies who though they would get their name or logo on national tv????

:(

True, but if the series was billed as being televised, and it obviously wasnt, then the teams were misled. If sponsors were told that it was to be televised, then they were misled as well.

I cant find the original thread about the announcement of sky sports coverage

2....have you never seen the nppl on fox???? the ratings they got were huge, and it increased each episode......tell me every one of those ppl was a baller:rolleyes:
