ShockTech

Quick,
you sound as though you have had a few problems with some of the products you have bought in the past, I am not in any way disputing that.
What I will take issue with, is the way you did it.
First up, the subject of your initial post being 'Cocktech', hmmm ok, whatever.
Secondly, it is a myth to believe that the pros on, say Aftershock, use anything other than stock Shocktech parts.
I'm afraid Quick, that's exactly what they use, stock Shocktech Cockers, stock SFL's and stock accessories.
Newbie players like to think that the pros use all fan-dangoed gizmo **** that nobody else can get their hands on because it is easier to believe that than consider the alternative, that the pros are just better players.
Some of your other points are spot on but bearing in mind what I have just said, I don't think Aftershock could have attained that degree of success with products that exhibited the same degree of performance or reliability that u suggest.
Everybody gets naff gear every now and again, and some unfortunates get more than fair share and it looks as though you are one of them I am sorry to say.
I am sure if you had called Renick at BBT and explained the situation he would have taken care of you in a heartbeat but you chose to come on this site and bad mouth his gear without really considering whether or not your experience was representative.
I suppose, there are better ways of doing what you did is what I am trying to say.
Anyway, if you return all the faulty products to Renick at BBT and explain to him what I have said, I am sure he will make good any problems you have had.
And as for you holding back so as not to piss me off, I would much rather (from a personal point of view) for you to be honest and opinionated than to say nothing at all.
Anything u need from my end, just email me at robbo@paintballgamesmag.com

Well I do see your point. I guess I was a little harsh with my first post, there are a few things (such as the phrase “Sucks ass”) that I could of said differently. But at the time, the bolt that I bought for my cousin had been found to be defective, making his day of pball, well suck. That may have pushed me “over the line.”

And it’s not as I made a new thread concerning Shocktech and what I thought of them, but someone asked the people of the board for their opinions. And I gave it to him.

About AfterShock usesing only stock parts… Well them may be stock parts in their general form, but it they for sure operate properly, as in “if it doesn’t work throw it away and get another one from the pile of trigger frames.”

And who gets an early release on all they new shocktech products? Such as the hinge trigger, or that cocker highrise that was exclusive to AfterShock for a while before put out on the market. I’m not saying these kinds of things make their skill, I am almost certain they could rip it up with any semi, or pump.

beg borrow or steal a copy of PGI and the answer will be right in front of you. Every player you ever heard of, ask 'em what their fave P8nt mag is and they'll all tell you PGI. Why?

Well for starters, totally unbiased coverage of tourneys, markers, gear, everything.

For seconds, writers: how's about Robbo, Justin Owen, Tyger, Rick Martin, Erik Felix, Ravi Chopra, Jack Wood, Bob Long, Adam Gardner, Chris Lasoya, 2-E...I could go on. Basically, the world's best tourney and rec players have written on tactics, technique, equipment selection, yadda yadda yadda for PGI.

Lastly, it's Goddam funny dude...sacred cows get slaughtered every issue.

Trust me Carlos, buy PGI and you'll never buy another mag.

Peace.
Cool, looks like I'll have to steal a copy then. :D

I've been playing rec-ball for about three years now, and my regional scene is beginning to tire me. I have been picking up magazines at newstands to see what is going on outside of my region, especially tournaments. I have seen several magazines that left much to be desired until I came across a copy of APG. It seemed a leap ahead of the other magazines I had seen. Just out of curiousity, why do you believe that PGI is better than APG? Bear in mind that I have yet to read PGI, and only have a couple of other magazines to use as a reference point.
Carlos

Well, for other than obvious reasons....

HE WORKS THERE!

Did you think he was gonna say, "No PGI sucks, the other one is better." Wouldn't see any Robbo articles next issue, that's for sure...

Well, I don't personally know Robbo, but he doesn't seem like the type to bull**** somebody. As opinionated as he is, I figured if PGI sucked he wouldn't work there. I was just wondering what made PGI the "better" magazine. I haven't had the chance to pick up a copy, because I've never seen one in the stores around here(Kentucky). TJ pretty much cleared it up for me, looks like I just have to find a damn copy. :D

All shocktech pneaumatics........no problems
Superfly bolt........no problems
Drop forward..........no problems

The only problem I had to call shocktech for was when
I was installing the front block assembly the block
screw would not start. This was not shocktechs fault.
I call them and they told me about 700 first run 2k1
vert cockers left WGP with course threads tapped into
the body. All other cockers have a fine thread.
I called WGP and they sent me a nickle block screw at no
charge.:D

Team mate has an SFL......Has had it for 8 months, never
a problem and has been through cases and cases of paint.

Each to their own guys

Everyone likes different products. FACT!! Even if everybody says one product is crap, if one guy has his/her heart set on owning said product they will get it anyway. What I say is this...'If you really want something, you should just get it.' If it turns out to be a huge pile o' shiznit then you've only got yourself to blame and you won't do it again. Sometimes you gotta find out for yourself then form your own opinion. Ie.. I bought a 1972 mini (the car obviously) from a 'friend' which was all tricked up. This car had been sat around at a garage for 3-4 years, this obviously meant it needed a good looking over by an expert or two. Now my dad is a bit of a guy, knows loads about everything and he said "Don't buy that, it's fu@*ed" but I really wanted it so I bought it. DUH!! The car works ok now I've spent shiz loads o' cash on it but constantly needs looking at. Now I don't regret buying the car 'coz I've now owned a mini and I learned a bit about 'em but I won't ever do that again. Simple. Lessons to be learned. Did I go off on a tangent?? I think so. Again, I won't do that again, well kinda.

Aww, I never make a valid point do I??

You wanna Shocktech?? Get one!! You don't?? You want to take everyone's advice and be happy with that?? Then don't get one!! :D

you wanna freakin' answer??

Should the dude get a Shocktech Cocker??

NO!! They're ugly, clunky, far too expensive over here and have bad quality control.
For the money you could get a new Eclipse that is straight from the shop AND have cash spare AND the gunsmith that built the damn thing works over here.

Is Chris Latham 3:16 a fag??

yep. :p
