Respect is a hard thing to earn guys in paintball and we all should know haow people like to have a go when you are at the top in your respective Country

Players need to respect a Captain they are playing for, without that you will never make a squad work there will always be trouble

I really want to answer all the points given and let Beaker know some of the ideas we had in place

But I have just had the biggest tooth ever pulled out of my face by a maniac dentist and am going to go home and sleep for a while after taking some painkillers

Topped off by antibiotics, so no drinking for a week, 2 children for the weekend tomorrow , both of which take after me with winding up

Oh I am due such a good one

I will try to log on later and post some replies

True TJ it aint never gonna happen ever

TJ I do not get this one below at all

AFAIK, there were three established Pros on that team in it's first season as Pro, which flies in the face of what Giles said. Without checking back, I think Giles said he felt you'd need 4 - 6 establised older Pros to make a go off it.

Whether they had success at Am is immaterial as far as Giles is arguing....

My point is simply that Dynasty achieved success as Pro with a core of young Am players - and I'd go further than that and say that Jack and Ledz are better players than Chuck and Rodney IMHO.

I think Chuck and Rodney would disagree with you they also have won quite a tinchy bit more
It is winning that matter sright not just the taking part

Tru Beaker you have some very good points

But Chris going to Shock, I am not to surethey would have accepted him back so freely as you may think
Nick Truter would not make the AAs 1 squad, but would AAs 2
Ledz and Jack leaving Banzai is a good point

I will give you and discuss with you the what could have been later my mouth is killing me for a change

Practise makes perfect

Knowone can compare the rise of Dynasty to any players in the uk. The Uk scene does not have the same wealth of experience, weather or financial backing to recreate what Dynasty have done. I dont believe that even Peter will be able to pull the kind of sponsorship that Chuck got for his boys.
As for practising with other teams, yeah the top teams do play against each other but their at a level where that is the best kind of practise for them.
Just practising against the Uks best teams will not help the xball team. The team I play for, Outkast, was only started about a year ago. Our captain, Dave Stewart, has been in close contact with a certain top US team captain who points us in the right direction when it comes the training.
Now we havnt had any big results yet, but a year later were 10 times the team we started as and can beat Shockwave and Rushers, we took Dynasty down to 3 men at campaign etc.....Why cos we practise the stuff that makes a difference and Dave realises how much the game has changed and the need to practise new things, pete's stuck somewhere in the past where if you can keep tight your gonna win.......what!?? Dynasty dont stay in the same barricade long enough to keep tight!

Naturally we dont get enough coverage because Robbo has a dispute with our captain but I aint gonna go into that.

Sorry for the outburst but I hate it when teams just assume that playing against each other is practise, its a waste of time unless the whole team is at a stage of technical proficiency, which knowone in the uk will be at for a long time, especially with Robbo leading them! (just my opinion you understand)

PS

Some may find this weird but I wouldnt want to play for Robbo's team, mainly for the reasons above and the way he treated Shockwave, I did go to the trials however cos Dave and Kaine Stewart went, and he told me I needed to practise left handed more and that I 'couldnt play a game without playing on'..........I was kind of insulted by the later remark because not realising youve been shot on the back or the squeegie aint playing on in my book. As for the first, well I out snap-shot Ryan Greenspan left handed at campaign Peter so I guess Ive improved!

Good luck to the team by the way, their all great players, I just hope Robbos training ideas are as good as TJ suggests.

Are you the Outkast who, at the Trials got shot by Billy from behind while in the Snake, then when you span you shot me, amongst others, square in the chest !?!

Just trying to put a face to your name :)

On topic

I think very few of us do not want UK paintball back up there, I would love to see this team, Shock, Tigers, Backlash, OutKasts plus hopefully a couple more all able to truly compete (and not just show up and shoot a couple) with the US teams, start making Finals every Millennium, hell the Russians can do it with almost zero home competition.

But I agree with TJ that it would take a lot of people to swallow a bit of pride, and go against the usual English mentality of every man for himself and knocking those above them for the sake of it. Personally I feel Robbo did make an attempt with the democratic-ness selection (although I agree Giles it wasn't perfect - but he made a good stab at it)

I'd like to know if after this year there are any teams decideing to radically change their rosters or form other teams, we need new teams coming in and forming up in Am and Pro to shake the talent to the top - the scene can get very stale otherwise.

There are olny 2 pro teams in the UK, the rushers only ever played amature so how can u compare them to the Tigers and to shockwave. if any of u have failed to realise the tigers are not only the best team in the uk but have finished top european team in the last two millienuim events. its easy to look good playining novice and amature but play pro its a completly diffrent ball game.

Im not fishing mate,
I honestly do think we're gonna do well.

I was just wondering what other teams might be up and coming in the uk now that we've lost a couple of the best.

no right thread

all u guys seem to forget that the tigers are the up and coming team. ive seem ppl list the top 5 uk teams and not even include them. shockwave and the tigers have better players than this new robbo super team.

my point is this rushers played Amature Not pro, amature is pretty dam easy compared to pro so its easy to look good hide in teh amature ranks. the rusher have been playing together for a long time the core of that team has been together for a very long time. they have done well at teh end of this year but finished 8th.
