Practise makes perfect
Knowone can compare the rise of Dynasty to any players in the uk. The Uk scene does not have the same wealth of experience, weather or financial backing to recreate what Dynasty have done. I dont believe that even Peter will be able to pull the kind of sponsorship that Chuck got for his boys.
As for practising with other teams, yeah the top teams do play against each other but their at a level where that is the best kind of practise for them.
Just practising against the Uks best teams will not help the xball team. The team I play for, Outkast, was only started about a year ago. Our captain, Dave Stewart, has been in close contact with a certain top US team captain who points us in the right direction when it comes the training.
Now we havnt had any big results yet, but a year later were 10 times the team we started as and can beat Shockwave and Rushers, we took Dynasty down to 3 men at campaign etc.....Why cos we practise the stuff that makes a difference and Dave realises how much the game has changed and the need to practise new things, pete's stuck somewhere in the past where if you can keep tight your gonna win.......what!?? Dynasty dont stay in the same barricade long enough to keep tight!
Naturally we dont get enough coverage because Robbo has a dispute with our captain but I aint gonna go into that.
Sorry for the outburst but I hate it when teams just assume that playing against each other is practise, its a waste of time unless the whole team is at a stage of technical proficiency, which knowone in the uk will be at for a long time, especially with Robbo leading them! (just my opinion you understand)
PS
Some may find this weird but I wouldnt want to play for Robbo's team, mainly for the reasons above and the way he treated Shockwave, I did go to the trials however cos Dave and Kaine Stewart went, and he told me I needed to practise left handed more and that I 'couldnt play a game without playing on'..........I was kind of insulted by the later remark because not realising youve been shot on the back or the squeegie aint playing on in my book. As for the first, well I out snap-shot Ryan Greenspan left handed at campaign Peter so I guess Ive improved!
Good luck to the team by the way, their all great players, I just hope Robbos training ideas are as good as TJ suggests.
