It seems like I have been away for a few years, Tigers and Rushers do not get me wrong have some very talented individuals on board, but I do not know enough about this season to comment

>>>From what I know I'd have to disagree because they fail to fulfill Giles' own criteria - i.e. they haven't played at NPPL Pro level for a coupla seasons? Off tha top of my head they've played what, 2, 3 NPPLs, and not made tha semis?

>>I'm not disputing tha talent on that team - I regard Matt Schmidt as a very talented player indeed - but I don't think any of em have the experience Ledz and Jack do - though I may be wrong.

Yes wrong on this point some of the team are very travelled seasoned PROS who have played US, but from my memory I do not think they have yet to make the Semis

For your own info TJ Jack and Ledz have never made a US Semi either there are only 4 UK ballers all retired who have managed the SEMIS and Finals in the US, not counting the Predators as that is a long way back and we could not include them in todays game
Shock have also played every Millenium and Poland plus NPPL over the last 2 years, Banzai ahd played some Millen, any NPPL?
Who ranked higher in Millenium out of UK teams this last 3 years say!!!

Woh misread the article or I did not write what I meant my original criteria was to play PRO for a couple of seasons, not ness NPPL

Shockwave have had a very difficult year with Dave Spittle leaving, Myself and Big Dave not playing a full spread

Maybe you just hit tha nail on tha head - I don't know but I imagine Shockwave probably did...but as you so rightly said, that was with you, Dave Spittle and Big Dave. You and Spittle played at the absolute highest level and big Dave is hugely experienced...and going back to trha original X-Ball thing, Robo did invite Matt Schmidt and Dave Spittle, they were his first two choices IIRC.

mm not quite getting your points guys

Nick first

Not quite my point a little to the edge, not all the teams I have mentioned on a EURO team have played with US teams
(I may be agreeing and you have maybe been agreeing with me as well)not sure, the English is a little distracted for me

I name no players in my threads as I wish to upset knowone

>>>My point was, that doing what Pete is doing, is the EXACT right way to take that last step into "top Pro" country.

Agreed but see points and belief below

My whole point revolves aroundthe fact that Peter is not able to turn any team into the force required, unless he has the pool of american talent and then it would not be his success

Well Nik you have 6 PROS with the experience in your thread, discounting 2 as you actually have 8, ask me and I will give you the 6

>>>European paintball has proven for years and years that the way we traditionally do it, just doesn't cut it.

Agreed!!

And I agree with all your other points Nick

Now TJ

For the wish of phone tapping

Maybe you just hit tha nail on tha head - I don't know but I imagine Shockwave probably did...but as you so rightly said, that was with you, Dave Spittle and Big Dave. You and Spittle played at the absolute highest level and big Dave is hugely experienced...

I just about follow your post

and going back to trha original X-Ball thing, Robo did invite Matt Schmidt and Dave Spittle, they were his first two choices IIRC.

He invited Dave he invited myself and Matt schmidt without any try outs to play, shame he could not manage this as a Captain and coach as we may have faired a little better in the Xball and I said MAY not would

I know the reason why the 3 of us turned Peter down though

Which is really enough said

What does IIRC mean

Thanks Beaker will take a look!!

Perhaps a bit late, since this thread has taken a nicer turn now, but I'll say it none the less.
If I see any more namecalling (even though some of you tried to avoid saying a name), I'm closing this thread down, and I'll kick some people off left and right. Thanks for calling me brownnose by the way Giles, much appreciated.

So it was easy for any team worth it's salt huh? ;)

I agree 10 is very different to 7.

Very few top Am teams from the USA have ever done well over here. I know a fair few of them enough to know that at times they field a full strength squad and at times they do not. I've seen the old and new Bushwhackers come over and I've seen the Family come over amongst others who I am not so familiar with.

I believe we have a huge development of top Am teams over here and the distinction between our pro's and Am's is not as great as it is in the USA.

So your pro's cream ours, but our Am's are close to our pro's and prove to be harder for your Ams.

I also think this is a very recent development. In maybe the last two years...

World Cup last year a scratch team of Am's came over and did very well in the 5 man... not sure what class they played in but they were in the finals.

Giles, in the last year I would have said the Rushers were the best UK team. They play pro in the UK but Am in the Millennium and were a serious threat to all Pro teams they come up against. They beat a lot of Pro teams including Ducklings etc.

Tigers are the quiet good ole boys, and have also done very well. They've got some great players and team work, but don't have a certain 'something' that the Rushers of this year have.

Richard - that snip you took was me quoting Giles back at him
Dammit, I thought I was one step closer to pinnig down your real identity (I know I know you really play for a team that never plays any tourneys and is sponsored by "Madeuppaintball", I'm on to you TJ :D).

Giles, in response to your comments about which divisions etc:

Yeah it would be great if we could select a bunch of guys who had already played pro in the states... but we don't have that kind of experience  7-man, we have the Tigers, Shockwave and the Banzais (as I understand it) have been playing pro, the Rushers should have been in many people's eyes (I don't really have an opinion, because I have only seen them compete at Campaign this year, except in local tournies). I feel that in Europe there is little question this team should play pro.

In the states, playing 10 man, it would probably be a good idea to play Am for a season to find their 10 man feet, but I don't know whether they will or not. Robbo has always siad that he felt that any team he was a part of should be playing pro-ball, whether that includes a team he doesn't play for... I don't know.

There is a hell of a lot of speculation on this string... does anyone who is in the know (Robbo for example...) care to fill us in?

Richard
