Duff, yes. In terms of the best of British, some teams deserve it, some teams don't.
I'm interested in why some people 'deserve' sponsorship?

The problem is that many site owners just focus on the 'bread and butter income'....the average punter spends about £50 whereas a walk on player often only wants to pay for use of the field and bring their own paint....when some sites can have about 600 players in a weekend....aprox 30K in revenue, its little wonder many site owners cant be bothered to buy a supair field for walkons when theres a few hundred quid involved at most.

Im not saying their doing the right thing, because a good walk on facility would attract many players and the overheads are much less than for punters. Things are begining to change, at wdp's site in birmingham, an nppl style field is now up every other week, on grass, netted with a compressor running...

..at the moment its closed to teams only, but may become a walk-on, village style ground some time soon...

This is only possible however given the very small cost of running, obtaining fields in this particular case.....Not every site owner is willing to do this because the bottom line counts and at the end of the day the future revenue stream created by pushing more players into walk-on, would still be less than that currently being gained by focusing on punters, where the most mark up on paint is..

I can't speak for everyone, but my old team provided refs (free) for scenario days (gawd that sucked), did service on guns, talked up the store to a lot of people, and bought things through the store rather than online. I also spent enough time online that I was able to predict with pretty good accuracy what was going to sell, and my advice was taken (usually) in what products were carried in the store. This was pretty much for event paint, local entry fees, and the like.

Then I would suggest that:

A - You deserved sponsorship

B - You have just made the majority of Brits hang their heads in shame;)
