Getting back to the original question....

A good portion of Team Justice are black, just watch the 720 video's for them.

In Miami I noticed a fair few (if only because you don't so much in the UK as Jose said) although couldn't tell you what teams they were on.

True........ I know ive forgot to put in a smiley a few times, and when i've read it back it looks a bit heavy. I think everyone should give him a chance to put his side over before any decisions are made.
I got to admit, i found it funny, and i'm not a racist.

The thread has a few funny comments in it before his post, so you must really take the post as a joke.

Before anyone thinks this, in no way do i have any link with Jack Daniels, i am just replying to this problem as i saw it when the item was posted.

Thankyou sir.
I dont believe how many people jumped on such a flippant remark. you guys, come on. like it has been said. consider the source !

I happen to know DW quite well Through this sport, hes a diamond, and im sure, infact i would bet some of my hard earned beer tokens on it that DW saw that comment exactly as it should have been seen, see above also.

I was a joke. Yes it was a stereotypical joke, but a joke nevertheless, It had no racial tint in it whatsoever, lets face it, we all make stereotypes, has anyone ever met robtattoo, or bod. feck me if we all took those guys at face value, everyone would have been too scared to talk to them. I reality they happen to be some of the hairiest blokes that i know, but also some of the nicest i would ever want to meet.

maybe it was a cheap shot, if that is the case then i apologise, but i resent the fact that the word racist comes up all too often.
people need to distiguish racist remarks from geniune, often poking fun at racists remarks.

I think as a culture (not just in the sport) we can become too ready to jump on someone who mentions colour of skin as a generalisation, maybe that is the real problem, youre all too afraid that someone is going to take offence. maybe once in a while you should talk to a black person as a PERSON and not as a BLACK PERSON.

Edging around the subject will only cause more resentment in the long run.

If you think that i am a racist from one post then fair enough. Personally i think it was too much to moderate that light hearted post.

The fact that I have taken the time to explain myself shows that i do actually care. And if you have taken the time to read this post then i thankyou.

If i am out of line. TELL ME, thats what this forum is for. if you agree, then also, respond and tell me your thoughts.
thanks guys.

ps,
A belated :D

Sounds fine to me...

I think, JD, for what it's worth, that the problem with comments like the one you made are that they are only contextualised if someone knows you, or can see your facial expression or hear your tone of voice - part of the problem with email/forum postings.

I also like to think that if we saw a comment that said 'All Jews are tight', 'All Pakistanis are shopkeepers', 'All women are stupid' or 'All white blokes are uptight twats' we'd get rid of them as well.

However, it's a highly subjective issue, so we can't moderate to everyone's satisfaction; ultimately, as we've said a million times before, it's about self-moderation.

After that, we will moderate what we feel is necessary. We don't always have a consensus amongst the mods, but most of the time we do.

As a wise man once said......

I never intend to offend.....I just offend with my intent.

I for one would prefer to have not seen the original post made if only because I feel comments like that are so hard to judge the underlying intentions/meaning when they are typed. Plus it's in a public forum where everyone can see it with no history/knowledge of you and whether you can use the "I don't really think that way.... I have 10 black/gay/liverpudlian mates so how can I" defence.

Whenever I remember seeing Jack's posts I have normally thought they have been abrasive for the sake of being abrasive rather than actually having a real point to put across (sorry but that's what I remember of your posts), so I just took it as him trying to get a reaction/cheap shot.

I am not PC, far from it, but yeah I think that post was a step (although a small one) too far.
