What U Turn did the MS do on the last event, I read the problems that you were having Pete, Huntington Beach falling on the same dates, (Not good in anyones books). But quote me if im wrong, You couldn't field your Nexus Squad and if you didn't send a team you would have lost your place in the pro ladder. Is this correct so far? I thought the original options the MS gave you, were play another team under the Nexus banner (Which you did ) or drop out of MS or NPPL (that option wasn't really a option). So this is the bit I must of missed down the line somewhere, What did Laurent do?, You still had the same options as far as I can see.

The only thing that I may have missed is that Laurent spoke to your sponsors for you, to let you play another team under the Nexus banner.

But where do the BIG GUNS get involved? Nothing really changed, you played another team, what was one of the original option, I'm Confused. (But it doesnt take alot to be honest)

Sorry if this is a pain in the arse but wanted to clear it up, as it keeps cropping up in different threads on here.

Then I refer to you back to the message I posted before regarding what happened and this time I suggest you read it.
Instead of being confused, try reading what I wrote, it makes things so much easier in the long run ya know !!!!

And I suggest next time you write anything, you declare your true identity or are you a coward as well as an idiot ???

I got no problem in writing under my own name, I suggest you try doing the same lest people might think you are a eunuch !!!

Thank you for a speedy reply

Pete I'll come and buy you a coffee or tea when I next see you, and you can explain it better without it being on the forums.....

Kind regards

Mark

I'll look forward to it........ but in the meantime I will be talking to Laurent for what should be obvious reasons and if he requests I take my foot off the gas on this one then I have enough respect for him to do so.

In fact, half way thru writing this, Laurent has called and he has informed me of several things for which I am grateful and my guns are now re-holstered and I will now shut up.

Al I have ever wanted is a better circuit that shows its cusotmers respect, that is all, and on that note I have no further comments or attacks to make re the MS.

Warren - nice little bit of promotion for your events there ;)

Why would the NPPL be any better, when their payout percentage is worse - in a market where they compete with the PSP?

I think we just have to resign ourselves to the fact that this is one thing that will not change, as long as we are not organised..... and the way things look, we never will be :)

Nick
The fact that the NPPL can have a lower payout percentage in a market where they compete with an alternative series such as the PSP is testament to the quality of NPPL events. Players do not need bigger prizes to receive the value they expect for their entrance fee.

The NPPL and PSP are good for each other as competition raises the bar. Unfortunately europe aint big enough for two series so players won't be truly listened to as customers for a long time. Only market forces make businesses really listen to their customers, and the MS is unchallenged.

Its not exactly better in terms of prize money but i garantee that anyone will tell ya that US Paintball has come a long way in terms of Marshalling, Venues, Media Awerness & in a lot of ways customer relations, compared with when there was only one major circuit.

As i said before it wont change until there is healthy competition, it's the way of the business world.

Personally, I have no idea what the "take" is for the promoters at an average MS event when all expenses are paid, but it would be interesting if you took at stab at it, with your indepth knowledge of what the expenses are (and factoring in shipping cost and insurance over a full year rather than just one event)....

Its not really my style to disect other peoples bussines. Dont get me wrong its a good thing that the Millenium make money to keep them interested & moving forward but thats really not the issue here. The problem is customer relations, we just dont get treated like customers & i think we pay enough money to get a better service nowdays.

According to my calculations, they have something like € 215,000 left per event when the prize money is paid :)

Yes, there is defo a lot of profit for the millenium & they deserve it, Laurent has probably done more for Europen paintball than anyone & i respect him 110%. I also think Steve, Nial, Manfred & Barry are good guys & i have no problem with anyone one of them but i just hope they can see sense on certain things & start to actually treat us like CUSTOMERS not naughty kids.

Anyway i dont like this forum stuff to much nowdays so i will leave it there but if anyone inc Millenium want to discuss anything then feel free to PM or email me purerush@btconnect.com

Millennium team captains Forum?

I have been thinking why dont we have a website that has a forum that only the Millennium team captains can use & discuss issues. Maybe have 1 for each division & then some kind of voting system for rules, prize money, formats etc etc If (& its a big if) we can get all the teams capatains talking & discussing things then we would have some power, now i know this has been tried before but maybe if we try & organise a captains meeting in Bitburg or something to discuss this it would be a move forward.

Lets say for exapmle that there is a rule we all know is stupid & 90 out of 140 teams agree not to play with this rule then the millenium would have to listen & this would also benifit the Millennium becouse they would get positive feedback. I know the PA have something like this in place & we have to recognise that we only have power in numbers & we all at he end of the day want the same thing. Maybe we could just do it for the CPL & Div 1 teams for now & over time incoparate the other divisions.

What does everyone think?

MS had something like that couple of seasons ago. It was just a pain to use, maybe they should look into it again.

I makes me chuckle Sherman.... someone suggests the captains have a forum where they can discuss issues - and you immidiately suggest the MS to make it for us?

FFS dude - if EVER "we the teams/players" are to get ANYTHING changed, we need to learn to act on our own and coherently, without big brother MS holdings our collective hand :)

I have twice been involved with trying to start a players union, and twice I have failed... and I am now resigned to the fact that as long as the MS doesn't do anything that REALLY outrage the majority of the players... most are content to bitch about stuff online - and often anonymously - and then leave it alone....... which is exactly why things will ALWAYS be controlled by the promoters in this sport... never the players.

In most any other sport, the players have a great degree of control, because they realise that without them, there is no sport.... and because they are able to get organised.... in comparison to other sports, this is yet another area where we paintballers look like village idiots :)
