Players switching teams

Phil,

Yea, I'm the Same Si,

Yea, I was Capt of the Clowns (A team I formed if you remember) .. Things didn't work out with that and I've got no bad feelings about it... It's just the way things happened, we didn't get on, clash of personalities, call it what you want.

Yes we were Sponsored by 6E and are no longer.. Again, No bad feelings from me on that subject.. I still chat with all of the 6E marshals and co at every event. 6E Helped us out no end when we started out and I'll always be gratefull to Hatts and Gillie.. there are no and never will be any bad feelings about it.

I have not said that the Clowns were a pro team, I said they were a Div A team playing for a Div E team. The fact that in the millenium series they are in the same division is not relevent.

If you go back and read the thread you will notice that I don't pick on the Clowns or the Chicks.. The Storm Birds were mentioned as well.. this topic was not aimed at any particular team or individual, it is just a general topic (kicked off by Hatts) asking what other player and teams think of the situation.. Some will agree, some will disagree.. all fair enough.

As for the Players guesting.. I agree with Al on all counts.. having top players play for teams is an excellent opportunity not to be missed.. But you all must agree that having 1 or 2 higher division players on a team will make a HUGE difference to that's teams results.. Excellent for the team in question, not so good for the other 7 or so teams in the division... I can't remember the name of the event but I remember there used to be an event where each novice team was given a Pro to play on their team.. excellent idea... we can all learn from the top players and we all have one so no complaints.

The series 2002 events are excellent and I have no complaints about them at all (well... you could move them all to Newcastle so we can get a but more kip:p )

si hatts topic was about players switching teams once a team reached the final play offs i.e. the clowns reach the final and substitue there point players with the banzis or avalanche point players just so they can ensure victory at all costs not in respect of players that guest for teams

Huh????

Most of this is going right over my head?
Being new to the tourney scene can someone please clarify this for me.
If I am registered with one team at one event can I not then also join another team yet still be a member of the first team, in order to maximise the chances of actually getting a game. Even though both teams are not playing at the same event.

It all Depends..

From what I gather of the Millenium rules broadly speaking.. you cannot switch teams or join 2 teams..

However with local events there are no restrictions.

Can I add.. I've never played Kiss Cool, or even heard of them until today.

Well actually, you did pick on the Clowns & the Chicks -
"However, if this is your opinion then what about the Last 2k2 event at Nottingham where the 6E Chicks, a Division E team, recruited the services of one of the Killer Clowns, a Division A team, who almost single handedly won them several games and boosted them to a 3rd place slot". These were the only teams you named, I was the one who mentioned the StormBirds.

I personally found it quite insulting that you suggest that we wouldn't have won any games at all without the help of at least one Div A guest in our team. We've won 1 or 2 games in each tournament we've played this year, at this event we won 3 - gosh, massive improvement above the bounds of imagination. In the third game we won there was no Clown on the field just a friend of Sparklie's who came up to support us & borrowed a gun for the game. If the Clown was so great & made such a difference then why didn't we win every game he played in?

I'm sorry for the rant, but as I said above I feel I have been personally insulted by this & though I kept reasonably quiet on the subject I fell enough is enough.

Liz,

I'm sorry you feel that way.. Yes I mentioned the chicks, only as an example, yes you mentioned the stormbirds, I didn't know the situation at wakefield so couldn't comment, I did know the situation at Nottingham because I watched some of your games and saw the difference.. as I stated there are plenty of teams I know who have done the same thing.. I am not singleing out the Chicks, just talking about what I saw.. You know that I know 90% of the chicks team and get on well with them so have no reason to "have a go" at any of them.

I personally found it quite insulting that you suggest that we wouldn't have won any games at all without the help of at least one Div A guest in our team.
I suggested no such thing.. I am well aware of the chicks history on the field and am aware that they have won a lot of games with absolutly no help from any one.. if you re-read what I said:

who almost single handedly won them several games
That does not mean you didn't win any games without the guest.. it just means that he did help you win some games, and you can't deny that. I watched one particular game (not sure who you played) where the guest player took out 5 of the 6 man team you were playing.. in my eyes that's single handedly winning the game.

If you feel insulted by my comments then I apologise, that was not the intention..Things said on forums can be taken the wrong way by both parties and I don't want to get into a slagging match over it.
