Look at all the pball dvd's, the majority of them even I can't bare to watch.
Fox has got the format close IMO.

At best I can only ever see highlights being shown on TV, and again it would have to be the cream of the crop!

well i don't even have sky, and if they do put it on i doubt the bottom 2 divisions will even get a look in ... the hype will be around the top two, somanc and manc union being the ones they will focus on if they have been researching it they will realise that they would be the two (if you go by publicity) that you would watch .... at the first event i watched them play each other the game before us ... to be honest fat bobs leeds played better ball than that ... and there was so much moaning about not being hit and the crowd seeing wipes that all the hype to me meant nothing. later matches i saw were indeed great but that one in particular was just petty from a spectators pov... if you want to see good games watch divison 4 because they are all trying their hardest to beat leeds lol

Shouldn't really come on here accusing 2 of the top teams in the PA of wiping, IMO thats really out of order!

Sounds like the Ol' Green-Eyed monsters rearing it's head again:rolleyes: :p

Personally, I would much rather watch X-ball on TV than 7-man - it's easier to follow with fewer players, although I am fully aware that 90% of paintball will lose to paint-drying in the attention-span stakes.

Why not the Millennium? This is the closest approximation in Europe of the NPPL we have, and even that looks like the poor relation.
Nothing against the millenium, i just mentioned series that are already getting TV coverage. Sky are filming PA (but as of yet we don't know exactly what or how much will be shown) and NPPL is on fox, what i meant was it would be nice if they were on a channel that i have on my TV, so i don't have to move to the US or buy sky sports.

I agree with a lot of your points, especially about the likely "football round up" style of a show. I play a novice limited paint 5 man event at the moment (KotH), and have no misconceptions about the likelyhood or even merit of that for TV. :)

One of the reasons i think the PA might do well on TV is the success it has had in other media. The PA cup, and this years league have gotten loads of local coverage. That could be used to promote the TV show. Sort of "see bumsvile bunnys in action for yourself next thursday at X o'clock on sky sports X" type thing.

The PA is likely to be on one of that sky sports many obscure channels, (Although i might be wrong) that not every one has. But most big pubs subscribe to the full range so that they can show the local footy. At least those i've worked in. Would teams drag all there mates down the pub and asking if they can have sky sports 3 on on a tuesday evening? I reckon that would stick in the mind of the landlord. Would expose the people in the pub to a bit of ball.

I admit the level of play is not that of the EXL NPPL etc, though.

I personally think that they will record as many games as they can and then in the editing room look for the fastest most aggressive game (or summit like that), as i dont think that if you get a game where the teams are rivals, and dont want to loose and it end up going to time and there are still 14 players on the field its gonna be good tele! so yes Div 1 and 2 might get all/most of the coverage but there will be a few Div 3and 4 games as they might be better TV.

Am i right or am i wrong?
