I played a demo version of the game at Ultimate Madness a little while back...It's amazing....just like playing paintball, you can snap, switch gun hands, slide, dive, wipe shots, choose from multiple markers, setups, fields(woods, airball, anything really) The options are cool. I didn't get a chance to mess with the team set ups, or anything like that but from what I saw I'm sold on the concept, as were many other people who played it. It plays alot like Halo, and just seemed to be alot of fun. I'm the king of negativity, and I'm so psyched for this game to come out.

The demo I played was set up to play one vs. one, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be linkable/ multiplayer, etc. What I saw was a first person view, I'm not sure if there would be a third person, etc option. Every single person I talked to about the game that had played it loved it, including a bunch of serious gamer types.

Greg plays a ton of video games, if it's in his power, he's not gonna put out junk.

As for teams etc. I didn't mess around with those types of options, not for any reason other than I didn't think to.

Ok......I've been playing for 3 years, so call me stupid but........who the f**k is greg hastings??

It won't appeal to a mass market with a name like that, especially if some paintballers like myself don't know who he is. John Madden, Matt Hoffman and Dave Mirra it ain't, if you know what I mean.

Greg Hastings is the boss of Redz i think.

I agree with you, he's hardly known, especially not as a player. If it is the case that they do call the game after him is rather stupid and maybe a bit egotistical. In the case with Tony Hawk, Colin McRae, Matt Hoffman etc, the games companies aprroached the stars to attach their names to add some extra credibility to their product. Instead of aproaching a well known paintball star (any of Dynasty, Lasoya, Cagnoni, Matty Marshall) they havegone for the name of one of the main guys in charge of the project (aparantly). Seems a bit big headed and arrogant to me really.

If they really want to attach a name to the product then any of Dynasty kids would be a good idea but if they weren't possibly then Rocky Cagnoni would be a good choice. He's still a damn good player, is known for presenting the Super 7s and already has quite a good public opinion. Doesnt Greg have some close ties (Redz Factory Team) with Rocky, it could be possible?

It would, in my opinion, be a very bad marketing decision to have any names put to a game like this.

The reason being, think of one person you know outside of paintball who could name a dynasty player or for that matter has even heard of dynasty. Going from experience most people dont even know that tournament paintball exists ! They still think of paintball as camo and army games.

This is going to be a superb opportunity to educate people and draw much needed attention to the sport we play,(as long as the game lives up to the hype) but if gamers see the name of some guy they have never heard of they may well buy the hockey/basketball/football game next to it with the name of some guy they do recognise.

It may only seem like a video game to some people but if this is done right it could be the start of something BIG.
If the game is good and gets good reviews then people outside of paintball will start to buy it and straight away you have more people that know about the sport. If more people are interested then there are marketing opportunities. As soon as we get to this point then the big sponsers and television start sniffing around trying to get in on the action and so it snowballs. We also get lots of new players wanting to try the sport and buying markers and gear.

So you see guys all of us have a lot resting on this doing well. Give it a good name and make it a bloody good game !

No pressure !!!!! ;)

And good luck. :)
