i like the backwards compatable idea

sorta like din fittings with 232 bar and 300 bar.

im sure it can be done, and as an owner of a home fill rig, i really cant be arsed to change it.

someone design a way of doing this pleese, maybe altering the lenght so a 3000psi one wouldnt fit a 4500 connector, but works other way round similar to din, but other way round, if u get me....

Staying warm on a sunday!
void stickers located on join between the neck of the bottle and reg.

when the hpac official checks. . . if it aint there then you aint getting a fill till the bottle and reg is checked!

and after hearing a bottle going bang in madrid being 20-30 metres away, I seriously don't want another incident to happen like that again. the bang will always stay with me!

anything that can help prevent a bottle failure has my full support!

seriously people. . . . why are you arguing with your own safety? stop dragging your feet and roll with the new system! decisions like this are not made lightly and on a whim like most of the statements on this forum!

You know what will happen just after the 'change' - someone will release an adaptor so you wont need to change your fill nipple - but, it will still make it possible for 3k bottles to fill on 4k5 rigs.

The only solution I see to this air problem - is to have only a few people filling bottles for everyone else. It will create queues (unless you have a few volunteers) - but at least you and everyone else will be safe.

This is the way OTE ran the Congleton site. Only the marshalls were allowed to fill up air tanks. It was actually quite nice to have - you left your bottle to get filled while you went off and got a cup of tea ;). Even those of us that have filled our own bottles many times over thought it was a great idea.

If 'volunteers' can't be found - then why not make it 1 team members job. Just make sure it isn't Fish .

I don't see why you're all so hell bent on trying to find ways round it. Stickers, selected fillers etc. Even if you do come up with a good idea it'd still possible for a 3000 air system to be filled to 4500, meaning no insurance therefore no even.

I'm not made of money and don't like phaffing around with air systems but needs must. If it's what we need to play, get behind it.

why not just invest in 1 god damn person to stand at the 4.5k rig and inspect tanks ? make sure there honest and straight down the line, and check every tank

sorted?
