i'd be happier with a 3000 fill on my 4.5K bottle than having to faff around with a fill nipple.

going all gun-ho about this won't help, the last thing players want is to change fill nipples every time they want to play the PA, it would be disastrous for the league.
Hopefully if it has to happen then it will be a nationwide agreement, but i'd like to know since when were burst disks unreliable? I don't know anything about them but they must have been trusted because haven't we been relying on them for the past millenia!?
The logical answer, assuming burst disks are trustworthy, would be to check them before the day?
Failing that have colour coded stickers on each reg and corresponding station.. to indicate the bottle pressure so you just match it up with the fill station, changing the whole fill nipple sounds like a hell of a mission, with the possibility of some numpty / confused person blowing up anyway

whilst i can definatly see the point in having a different fill nipple for different pressures but unfortunatly there is always the possibility of somone putting the wrong one on a system, for example i have seen an air reg on a co2.
also you then have the problem of players needing a different nipple for different events, which then adds in the possibity of someone not fitting a nipple correctly/nipples being changed more oftern by non certified people.
surely safer to have someone inspect all bottles before every fill, rather than just in the morning...im pritty sure most people will know of someone that has gotten round the currect 'check once in the morning' system. the only other way i can see of making sure 100% that noone overfills a 3000psi system is to only fill to 3000psi and i dont think anyone wants that.

This is not a "PA" thing, it is in fact a European problem that has been highlighted and I have looked for the cheapest solution to calm any concerns that some insurance companies have.
As a event organiser I have some legal responsibility (as do others) and I will make sure I dont get caught out.
If you are playing the PA this year you could easily play your Xball game with a three thousand psi fill and you would have no concerns, so you will not need to do anything.
However if you wish to have a 4500 psi fill you can with a change of fill nipple, I dont like the idea of everyone changing there fill nipple and H-pac and others will do it for you correctly for a small fee or maybe included in the cost of a new fill nipple depending where you play.
It is one thing to say lets ban 3000psi bottles for use in tournaments but quite another to make sure none get used.
If a 3000psi bottle was filled with a 4500psi fill, it is highly doubtfull it would explode, but if it did...........
And thats what the insurance companies are thinking, and asking.
It is very simple, we change fill nipples or stop the higher pressure fills. The insurance companies would prefer the second option, we could get away with the first.
This would become a UK standard when the fitting is available and a european norm in very little time.
This has the full support and backing of the UKPSF and H-pac.

i think the design needs to be the new fill nipple 4500psi will work on 4500 rigs AND 3000 rigs. the older style nipple (aka for simplicity sake, the 3000psi nipple) should NOT be able to fit the 4500 psi rigs. make sense?
so wherever you play with this new 4500psi nipple on your 4500psi bottle, you can get a fill. the point i was making is if you have a new 4500 fill rig and this new nipple that only fits this new rig, what use is that? to play anywhere else youd need to change fill nipples again or have more than one bottle or reg.

so either have 2 bottles or basically you can only get fills of off hpac...
until the "rest of europe" falls in line, so people will still be changing fill nipples to and thro until the new one is established = recipe for disaster
and its not hard at all. 1 man standing at the 4.5k fill rig, everyone has bottle cover off ready for inspection..... 3 second delay, or 10 mins to start fannying around with a 4500psi bottle... (which youll then have to do again to play anywhere else)
as long as the other tourny organisers change their rigs as well and they probably will as I assume they will have the same insurance issues as the PA.
