PA league format 2007 and the air issue

There is a very simply way to keep us all in line with UK insurance requirements we all reduce the air that is supplied on site to 3000psi and if the players want 4500psi they bring their own fill bottles (that way we don’t have worry about the liability). Or we do what I have suggested after consultation with engineering companies and professionals in this field. A very simple choice, pick one……..
There is a fill station and fill socket (in the design stage) that will allow you to change your nipple on your 4.5 bottle and whatever nipple you put into it, it will only fill to its rated value 3000 or 4500psi.
Trouble with that one is the set up cost to the air suppliers would be about £500 per fill station and another £70 per fill socket and Hpac themselves would need about sixteen, and you would still need to purchase a fill nipple yourself.

i have no problems playing the PA on 3000psi as thats what fight club was. if your using more than 3k on any modern marker in an xball game like this, you need a more efficient marker imho.

while this new system implemenation is expensive, but probably doable for the HPACs et al of this world, smaller people like NQ / D7s etc might have issues with £600 of equipment to cater for people who have changed fill nipples, or ask them to use alternative air sources / different bottles.

hmm.
seems a bit more complex than people are currently appreciating in my eyes

Sorry I dont think I have made myself clear, if we do as I am suggesting the fill socket cost to the sites will be less than thirty quid and the cost to the players cheaper than the sites.
The above was just something that is on the design board, there is no plans to bring it into paintball because of the cost.

There is a way to do it reasonably cheaply.

The nipple for 3000psi could be made approximately 2mm longer, and the quick release made longer. This way the 3000psi fill station would not be able to clamp to a 4500psi fill nipple, but the 4500psi bottle could be filled on a 3000psi fill station. But of course this only restricts 3000psi on a setup that has been changed to the new fittings.

Wont work, because if a bottle fill nipple was not changed a 3000 bottle could still be filled with 4500.

yeah, i think handing bottles into people to do for you, and they check the bottle EVERY time it is handed in, is by far the safest and simplest way...

Russ there is a larger version of our fittings, usually called 2st. Unfortunately they have 1/4 npt/bspt mounting threads.
