100 teams play 8 games = 800 games

Same 80 games a field = 5 fields

9 Pro Judges per field = 45 judges.

Thats 18 less judges to fly in, put in hotels, feed and pay.

Plus it is a lot easier (and therefore cheaper as market forces demand) to find venues that can host 5 fields rather than 7 fields.

Also set up and clear up costs (which ar some of promoters biggest expenses) are reduced.

Fianlly I would love to see where you get the idea that promoters are coining it in, from what i hear the NPPL lost money at every event last year and they have more teams, bigger sponsorship, higher entry fee AND ONLY 8 PRELIM GAMES!!!!
Careful, this amount of intelligence on these here forums spells nothing but trouble for you.

A few people have doen some calculations and said this that and the other, well what about the Millennium Series coming on and saying something. I mean we are the paying customers after all.

Is that such a bad thing to ask? I know they read the boards but no one has said anything.

The Millennium Series feel that such an association is very important for the sport and especially to enable the Series to improve on things the players (our customers) need. (taken from the press release sent around.

Oh and look it says we are there customers! Yet they do not come on here and speak to us! Oh hold on why should they? They are the Millennium Series and they rule the world!

I also have another question, crock o sheet, why depend them so much?

Still I guess we just have to put up or shut up, so I for one won't be giving them any of my cash this year! Not that it really matters in the long run anyway.

:D

Oi Crock o sheep If its that “Simple really” why have you screwed up on your calculations? 100 teams playing 10 games is quite obviously 500 games not 1000….Dumbass!!!

Well Hallelujah

At last something to back up the action that has been taken!!

Mr Crock you are clearly linked with the MS in some way - how about getting a statement from the MS so that we can have some transparency?

As for promoters coining it in - I said that was the players impression - it may or may not be fact but the MS has to manage peoples expectations as well as their impressions.

As for losing money - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh my sides have split.

We all know accountants can be creative (within the law of course) and it is hardly in the interests of anyone in business to show a big 'ol profit for the taxman to get his % from!!!

I wasn't born yesterday Mr Sheet, neither were you or the rest of the readers here (Kyle was but thats another matter).

Lets move forward now and see the MS back all this up - obviously we'll see ALL events in premier sites this year, the moment the MS fails in this regard the players will expect a refund in part on their entry fees - lets say 20% ;)

Sam - Ok - say that in your reply!!

But I have to say that reducing perceived value to the bread and butter teams is hardly likely to maintain current levels of participation.

And I cant recall many events being sold out in the last few years!!

Perhaps they know something we dont?

I remember you telling me that you thought 8 games sucked when you went stateside - and I was of the same opinion. We all thought the MS model was far better.

- it's 450 games ;)

100 teams playing 8 games is 350 games

You can run around 60 seven minute games in a day on one field (6 per hour), so the MS maximum saves 1 field if they don't get more teams entered by cutting the number of games per team.

Thanks heaven for old Nicky BD!!

So I was right then - this move doesnt save a huge amount in terms of set up etc!!

It brings us back to the gut reaction that the number of games are being cut to enable the number of teams to be increased to generate more revenue!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MS - give us the party line!!!!
