NSPL Air Last Sunday!

I played on Sunday at UCZ and can only say that on cleaning my Ego8 I found what can best be described as dirty water in my front reg. Not oil!
Hats off to Syd for being transparent about the issue and offering the free clean services for the bottles.

After our boys serviced their Egos all we found was a small amount of residue in the reg (a coupleof drops not a river!) and nowhere else in the gun at all. So i would imagine most other markers will be the same, a 2 min clean and and your sorted. Worth giving it a good check though for your own piece of mind though.

It would seem as usual there are three sides to every story.

There will be the organiser's side (Syd) the players side (self explanatory) and then the facts.

Thanks to Hpac for coming on and offering their expert advice, also offering proof of quality.

Noticably absent is Syd himself, but can everyone please refrain from turning this into a thread of hate?? As DW says, everyone is entitled to hear BOTH sides of the story, and when Syd has replied then the forum users will form their own judgements.

Like Jim said, it shouldnt be a hate thread and that is not the reason I posted it, but there should be solid answers coming from a source who isnt tied to the system as we cant just put anything like this down to possibilities

anyone that has filled from a contaminated system is at risk even when filling at a latter date from a dive tank or clean air system.

To this end Snatch have contacted us and ask if we can arrange air systems for them, which Freekz as a team are doing, as well as help from Pete (onasilverbike). If there is anybody else coming to the Freekz site this Sunday that was at the NSPL please feel free to pm me and I will do my level best to source you a air system for the event. If anybody would like to see the Freekz Paintball clean air cert. please give Mick (the Freekz owner) a shout and he will sort that out for you.

I would suggest that people read the initial post thoroughly before they comment and take note that although Nige posted it, it is a direct quote from Syd.
I also posted Syd's reply to a question posed to him by Kiwi on the NSPL forum (who I have been reliably informed is HyperLite on here).

What should have happened is that upon realising there was a problem was that filter was changed and system cleaned and the purged untill air was dry and oil free, then carry out a air test from the end source ie after the storage.
Sid was not to know this but should have been told by his air supply company.

It is a very unfortunate incident, and there is no definitive proof of oil residue, all the evidence so far does seem to point to dirty water. To have your bottle tested is inconvenient especially if you wanted to use your bottle this weekend, but nowhere have I seen that anyone has asked Syd if could possibly provide them with a temporary replacement whilst their bottle is being checked and it could not be guaranteed to be returned in time.

I know of your relationship with Syd (and I would class you as a site team, whether you are or not, and as I know you all have years of experience in paintball your experience in HPA is probably as qualified as most paintballers. You cannot say it is DEFINATELY water as you have stated, have you actually tested it for even the slightest bit of oil traces? I thought not!
I think some people have the right to be a bit concerned and as I have said, you have stated it IS water. I also think you have no right to be so adament that it is nothing to worry about because have you ACTUALLY seen a tank/reg go up.
I look after my kit but mine still went up. People who know me will know that but it still happened. We are always at risk and I dont think you or anyone else on here with under qualified knolledge in HPA can put minds at rest by a simple post of "its water." It may well be but until we know for sure I thnk once again your posts are unproved and inacurate.
I am not attacking Syd or the NSPL over this but DEFINATE answers seem a little scarce.
Now feel free to reply but you will not change my mind

not that often i post up on here but thought i would just set things straight.

Gadet is NOT from UCZ site team. he plays for Kinetic who are in no way associated with UCZ or its site team.

Gadget is a great lad and wat he has put up in his post will be what he has found.
