NSPL Air Last Sunday!

I dont know if this has been posted on this forum but it has been on the NSPL. If there are people on here that dont use the NSPL you need to read this.
Mods please feel free to move or whatever but people need to be safe!

If you attended Round One of the NSPL, please read this post in its entirety... it is important you read this information and pass it on to anyone else you know attended the event.

At Round One of the NSPL on Sunday, 16th March, we used our backup site air compressor to fill participants air bottles as the NSPL Air Compressors were delayed by a transport company over lost paperwork and did not make it back to us after a trailor refit in time for the event as planned. The backup compressor is connected to a safe, slow-delivery fill system installed and maintained by professionals and was capable of delivering air for the event without problem.

The site air compressor was due a filter change on the day of the event and as we made this scheduled change, I noticed that the manufacturers filter cartridge was damaged and the chemicals had spilled in to the filter housing. Obviously, with all the recent concerns about air delivery in paintball, this was a concern and we sort advice on the matter.

Under advice from Paramina Paintball, our air compressor suppliers, we thoroughly cleaned out the filter housing and replaced the damaged cartridged with a new manufacturers cartridge before the event got underway. From that point on, the compressor was pumping clean air all day long but it has come to my attention that there may have been residule water and possibly oil deposits in the fill system.

In light of all of this, the NSPL is offering a service for any players who attended the event to send their air bottles to Paramina Paintball for a full service, and a professional regulator and bottle clean. The NSPL and Paramina will cover all the costs involved. We firmly believe in the policy of its better to be safe than sorry when it comes to any issues with dealing with compressed air and are making this announcement alongside offering the cleaning service to ensure just that.

The NSPL has already taken big steps this season to ensure our air fills are safer than ever with restricted air delivery flow rates, new compressors, new storage tanks and a complete trailor refit. In addition, we will be making regular air quality tests and installing a continuous air quality monitoring device to doubly ensure such an incident cannot happen again. It is my belief that no other air delivery system in paintball goes as far as this to ensure the cleanest, safest possible air delivery 100% of the time.

It is unfortunate that logistics prevented the NSPL Air Trailor being present at our first event of the season, and at the same time this catridge problem occured in our backup system. We are dissapointed in any inconvenience this may cause any of the participants, but it is my belief that we need to be 100% transparent on any incidents involving air delivery and we are making all the neccessary steps to ensure that the situation is put right.

Anyone wanting to take advantage of our offer of a bottle and regulator service and clean should contact me for instructions on how to proceed. Please send an email detailing your team name and how many bottles you want serviced to southwest.paintball@btinternet.com

I noticed the residue, I was safe in the knowledge that it wasn't oil, but still it was coming out of the compressor.

Another thing I noticed was the consistency issues a lot of players had on the day, I wonder if this was something to do with it.

Anyway, good on Syd for getting this sorted without charge, I shall email and get bottles sorted right away.

Cheers.

Hey You Guys..

will they also sort out the guns ?

there will be "contamination" in them as well.they will all need servicing to get them back up to scratch.

You seem to have a lot of contencious things say in your short life

NSPL are willing to fund full service of all air bottles used at the event which could save your measly life - very commendable

The markers is not likely to blow up in your face, but with this warning then all owners need to do is a bit of basic maintenance just in case anything got into the marker.

HEY YOU GUY

You sir are put on notice

Sir.....

with respect

its a perfectly reasonable question. Can you gurantee me that no damage to the guns has occured?

If someone has spent £500 + on a gun in recent weeks they should expect the party responsable to take care of any costs incurred for gun servicing.

with the high costs of parts such as solonoids it is not a unreasonable request.

this is a open forum, this question is being asked as part of a serious debating issue.

I agree, it may well be a contentious question but it is one that needs asking and answering.

Your warning is IMO an unfair use of your new powers and totally inappropriate. The 'My measly life" comment is rude and condescending.

The NSPL had the decency to inform people that there maybe, no was, an issue with possible oil or water deposits. They as far as i am away the first UK organisation to say sent us the bottle you played with on the day and we will get it checked out FOC. The damage oil can do to a High Pressure Air bottle far out ways what damage water can do to your marker. They cannot guarantee that your bottle did not have oil or contaminates in there before, but they are prepared to put that aside and do what they perceive to be the right thing.
You would be very hard pushed at proving that your marker was damaged by connecting to that air system on that day or any other air system any other day, but at least you know that you are getting a free check on an item that if deemed not contaminated could save your life or the life of some one around you.

My worry is as you are using a faceless account to inflame discussions you may have a ulterior motive that is not what these forums are about

had it been raining heavily and mud got into your marker, would you expect remuneration?

had you not known about the air issue would you be asking the question?

NSPL have made a more than fair offer and been totally open about the issue, be grateful you are getting any help at all. As in all aspects of life no matter what you do for people there will always be one who isn't happy and wants that little bit more.

I think Dark Warriors quick response is because, here is a tournment organiser, Not turning a 'blind eye' and 'ignoring' a situation, which would have been BY FAR the easiest solution, but instead making people/players aware of the problem and then offering to pay for the cleaning and servicing of peoples bottles on 'the off chance' that they may be contamination.

... and it may have been viewed that your were taking the opportunity to escalate this to potential an unaffordable cost by people asking for their guns to be cleaned as well....

this i am sure may not be the case and can understand your comments which may be valid... :)
