if you watch when sebban runs through towards bc

bc doesnt have an armband, but he has his gun up and pointing at sebban
Wait, BC doesn't have an armband when Sebban gets to him?

Then the only player who could have put paint on Sebban would have been an armbandless BC. Which means BC was playing on without an armband.

BC with no armband. He's not in any of the pbstar shots up until that point, but I can't see how he would have gotten his armband pulled AFTER the penalty was called on Sebban.

So, again, Joy was robbed.

One thing I do want to stress though is the way Magued's team handled the situation. Very stand-up. I don't think any American team would have displayed nearly the class Joy did.

watching the video, and when BC jumps over the snake, it looks liek the only ref in position to make a call goes in and pulls BC's armband. So at that point everybody but Sebban is dead.

Like a lot of sports decisions can be debated and debated with different views from different people.

After watching it and reading the thread and seeing how complex the events were in such a short space of time was I'm suprised the marshalls didn't just throw it to a one on one. Takes some balls to take a stand and make a choice with so much at stake.

Me personally I can't make my mind up after an hour or so looking at the pictures and vids, nevermind the 10 seconds or so the events unfolded in. Refs in paintball are no different than any other sport in that they make mistakes, or often just make decisions on there perspective on things, rightly or wrongly. Sometimes they go for you, sometimes they don't.

One thing to come from this though is just how close Joy have got to the standard of American teams which this time last year barring Russian Legion seemed so great a distance in skill sets. Just shows what the right people with the right mindset and the right training can achieve :)

This isn't a big up the Euro speech either. At the end of the day there Swedish, I'm British. I'm nt wanting to jujmp on the Euro bandwagon. Its just nice to see this year closer results between teams instead of having a team running away with everything for a change :)

As above as well I would eat my hat if behaviour at the end (all be it arguing with refs) would have been as calm if it were another American team Dynasty were playing. Bit of a gutter financially the difference between first and second place, but in terms of performance I don't think they could be seperated all weekend! Then close nature of the deciding game a testament to that :)

Well, you're not very good at this then. I'd made up my mind before seeing any of the pictures or video!

In all seriousness, I think Max said it best when shortly after the game he said "Games are won and lost in chaos." Both teams had opportunities to either create or not create additional chaos, and both teams chose to create more chaos. Just so happens that Dynasty came out of this particular chaos ahead.

Reffing in NPPL is a big joke. Everybody who plays in pro division knows that. It was just a matter of time it finally happened in Final game, like it happens almost every 3rd nppl pro game... Pretty much the rule is that you don't have to come out if you don't get a giant direct hit on you right front of the reff while he is watching directly on you, usually they are watching the game, not the players and even if he is watching, you always have a choice to run down the field and take 3 players with you, this happens all the time and if some reason it doesn't work, its still worth of trying because there won't be no penalties. Only thing you have to be carefull is to ask paint check or notify a reff that you got paint on you from bunker, this is usually 1 for 1 or 3 for 1:D I think it was hilarious to see players run around with hits all over them in a game which was only about winning a tournament and winning the series and reffs couldn't make any calls, like its been whole year, hopefully this finally wakes people up to make changes...and its not only reffs fault. 7man is almost impossible to reff how it is right now. One bad call can change the whole tournament.

And here is one of the best explanations during whole season said by head reff when player plays on right front of him and he is the only reff in this area to make a call.
"I'm here to watch reffs, not the players." Brilliant, isn't it.

Can't wait to play NXL

1. when BC jumps over the snake, it looks like the only ref in position to make a call goes in and pulls BC's armband. So at that point everybody but Sebban is dead.

2.Fraige should have gotten a playing-on penalty because his band was pulled and he was still on the field interfering with play. (He didn't immediately exit the field, he loitered around in the snake.)

3.bc doesnt have an armband, but he has his gun up and pointing at sebban

So bla bla bla.
JOY IS THE WINNER !!!!!

Regardless of the refs decision  , for me the outright winners were Joy and this is because of their attitude after the carnage. Complete and utter sportsmen IMO.

So - both Scandal and BC played on without any armbands.... Which sort of "mutualizes" the calls (makes it even if you like?) - so Sebban SHOULD have been the last man standing on the field!!!

What has confused me from the very beginning is, that a players who´s eleminated AND gotten his armband pulled can hang the flag? I must admit I haven´t read the NPPL rulebook, but I reckon it´s the same as in Europe: A players who´s been eliminated cannot be put back in the game! So - shouldn´t they actually have made a draw for that game, done a re-match OR that 1 on 1?

What concerns Fraige/Scandal - who got who first etc. etc. etc. - it´s ALWAYS tough making such a call, and therefor the most obvious is to pull them both, naturally!

But - I still say Scandal got Fraige first! Look at his left shoulder - and the two pics from just before and after Fraige got hit the first time - you can see exactly where Scandal was aiming, since there´s some extra paint on the bunker just before where Fraige is sitting.... The paint is leveled with his shoulder (where he was hit) AND exactly where he is having his gun/barrel as well (on the second pic, outward towards Scandal) - so logically, he must have been hit on the shoulder before he turned, or else his gun/barrel would have been hit as well! Oooooh how technical this has all become... :p
