Well, the timing is a little close for most teams...even if they live in the area. Everyone's used to the first tourney being in March. And as long as I'm whining, the per person cost went up for the guys that have to pay their own way.
As far as the playing surface, didn't Chuck say that he was going to bulldoze the loose sand and utilize the damp, firmer sand underneath...I'm assuming this also means that he'll have to water down the fields every so often. If he really wants to, he can lay out astroturf ontop of the firm sand...did I mention that I really, really hate running in sand...the last time I played in sand it was raining and I was using my 'cocker and...well, long story short two guys lived, I didn't have time to unstick my trigger, the guy 15 feet to the left of me heard the ref say "That Sucks" and I was hugging a hollow in the sand that was not even taller than my shoulders and my teammate 15 yards behind me couldn't understand why I was frantically screaming for him to bunker someone as I was trying to make snow angels in the sand and balls were bouncing off my back...
There's a new resort complex just down the way and across the street but it hasn't even opened up and I doubt they'd want paintballers running around their pristine complex
