i feel weak at the knees:eek:

however many school leavers there are there will always be jobs, just ask shops, its so dam easy to get a job for a teenager now, and most of them pay reasonable, like £4 p/h some under this, some over...

Dude- I think you need to break down your angry barriers, Take peoples advice- you asked for it they're giving it!

Teching is a sideline for people who actively enjoy the task of problem solving it is not a way of providing a fixed wage. If you're dead certain that you wanna be a tech- then make sure you get accreditation by a recognised company (WDP an example). No one is gonna hand over their prized gat to someone who looks like they have problems tieing their shoes. Talk with the people who DO know what their talking about, familiarise yourself with the systems that make markers go bang. And most of all Chill- if you don't know something - ask don't try and blag as people will see through it straight away.

In my experience always blame the solenoid- regardless of the fault.

its getting better :) anyway bk on track any1 got any idear other than tail above
I am assuming you are talking to me?

When did I say english ball was bad? muppet.
I said your english was bad , and Im not a newbie , or
new to these forums. I started this new identity last year...
I've been playing , marshalling and running sites for 12 years.

Look , as has been said ( and you still have not taken note ) ,
these forums are viewed by lots and lots of people. Not just
players , there are lots of company and site owners on here too.
If you come on asking advice , and more importantly asking for
employment in the long run , you should at least come over as
having half a brain. If you owned WDP and you recieved a CV
written in the same manner as you have on here , would you
employ that person , or give up trying to read it , and bin it?
Thinking that he must be illiterate , and having recently left the
education system , obviously spent no time paying attention to
his English teachers.....
......Just some advice , not trying to wind you up;)

If you really want to get into teching , there is nothing wrong
with that. But it is not going to pay your bills in the long run.
Working in the paintball world is hard work , long hours , and
say goodbye to your weekends ( that includes playing ). It is
fun and you meet loads of people , but is that all that you want?

I assume you have some qualifications from your time at school?
What was it you were thinking of getting into when you were still
at school? Find a "normal" job that pays you a regular wage. Play
plenty of ball , meet people , ask intelligent questions and pay
attention to the answers.

Hope you eventually find what you want ;)

Cheers , Rob.

well i guess ill throw my 2p in the pot as well

for starters i dont regard myself as a qualified tech at any level although i do have a very good general knowledge of a lot of markers and their workings.....how did i aquire this knowledge......time and fiddling basically as well as asking others advise.
ive been playing for 13/14 years now and ive been fiddling with markers since then....if i could get my hands on ive taken it apart.
starting with nelson pumps and working up from there.
when i bought my first cocker (for my 18th birthday) i made a deliberate point of asking jack wood there and then to show me the basics of how it worked and he spent about an hour taking it apart (in the old planet shop) and showed me the very basics of cockers, from then on i fiddled with it untill i knew what did what, then i upgraded parts and fiddled with them too.
recently, in the last year or so ive bought a few project markers, first i started easy with what i knew and built up and old skool sniper 2 marker, then i picked up a cheap angel which i fiddled with a bit and got a LOT of help and info from tom allen (in fact the marker is still at his place!), a couple of weeks ago i bought a REALLY old pgp marker so i could take a look at how a sheriden type pump works and im planning on doing a few custom mods to this one.........i spent 3 hours last night on the net looking at automags.......why.......because it interested me at the time and ive never taken one appart yet!!! think i might trade my angel for a mag and play with one of those next maybe!

bit long winded but as i said at the start i am not a qualified tech BUT i do do a LOT of teching on peoples markers and i must answer at least a dozen tech type questions on pms on here most weeks, which i think proves that people trust me to give advise and help which has come purely from my experience.............get your self a project...take it appart, make it work and read as much as you can on it!

there probably arnt more than a handful of people in the uk that make a living teching markers, most do it as a spare time thing or purely for the love of it. appart from a couple of people at planet, wdp and belsales i cant even think of anyone that i know of that just tech markers in the uk
