Would naming and shaming deter people who cheat?

Of course, evidence would be hard to get hold of- but I think it's certainly something to consider.

Any thoughts?

in essence a good idea but to open to mis-use....i.e. someone with a grudge can come and say someone cheats when really they don't......

OK- but I have spoken to you several times- thought you knew who I was- I was the marshal who noticed the hit on your pot at Ancaster...

Mario- that's why the evidence is such a crucial issue.

there would be swings and roundabouts with this one
you would need hard evidence of any incident

but would it really deter anyone if they could win the game or get the crucial points they needed ie flag grab/elimination

tuff one this
can see the good and bad points of it

Royston, Herts.
It has it pros and cons, I firmly believe that you need to set some guidlines as to what defined as "cheating". Eg. A player gets tagged on his knee seconds before he slides into his bunker, on the slide in he "gets rid" of the hit, now is that cheating?
A distinction needs to be made between accidental and purposeful, and I would suggest at least 2 members of a marshalling teams needs to have witnessed it for it to hold any power.............but I can see it having a positive effect on the game as those who have been named would seriously consider not doing it again.
Just my 2p worth :)

Oh that's clever. Dickysixx starts a thread about naming cheats, and then fingers Roland for playing on with a hit on his pot.

I'd be proud of that one.:) ;)

I didn't mean it like that.
