Nick - normally, me and you agree on most things but when we do fall out it is gonna be for something like this because the above statement is so arrogant and irresponsible that it beggars belief.
Now, listen up Nick, just because people haven't been in touch with you and asked for your counsel on the viability of setting up in Europe doesn't mean it doesn't happen elsewhere in the paintball universe.
What the hell are you talking about Pete?

I just stated no alternative league had been founded - and that the reasons one had not were obvious.

How you could view that as "arrogant" is beyond me" :D

Nick, if I have made a mistake then I genuinely apologise but your tone was, 'if I don't know about it, then it ain't happening', which in my book could easily be described as 'arrogant'.
This merely leaves open my interpretation of your tone and as I said, if I have misread it, then I apologise but I still fail to see your statement of :-

'All this talk about an alternative league is just pipe dreams.
The reason there is no alternative league, is that nobody has had the financial opportunity AND the inclination to do it yet... and when they haven't yet... why do it now?

.. as anything but a statement made out of ignorance.

Just curious. How many teams are looking in the direction of Centurio instead of playing mill this year?

I know there are several issues with that series too but its still an alternative.

Not at all old man - lots happens that I don't know about :D

- I was merely making the assumption that since nobody had tried to compete with the league before, it must be for a lack of either funds or want to do it - or both - as the case may be.

As such, I fail to see why they (whoever they may be) should do it now.... seems to me it is far too late and that hoping for a viable alternative to the MS this year IS in fact a pipe dream. :)

Futher:

This is how I see the year go:

1. Teams bitch and moan about increased entry fees and generally being treated like ****
2. Teams enter the MS anyway for lack of an alternative
3. The MS puts on good events - and all the negativity is forgotten momentarily
4. The season ends with everyone thinking positive thoughts about the MS
5. Next year the MS board AGAIN tightens the screws - and the story repeats itself.

ALL because paintballers are lazy fcuks that rarely look beyond the tip of their own nose :)

It will never seize to amaze me, how paintballers can be completely absorbed in our game, spend every waking moment thinking paintball, spend every vacation day and their bottom dollar competing..... but when they are wronged - all that passion is just channeled into a little bitching online - and then nothing happens.

And it annoys me to no end I did not become a promoter years back - it must be a fantastic business, when you can keep treating your customers like crap, and still they return :D

I was NEVER talking about or even suggesting the time line for any league to start this year.
Of course it is a pipe dream for this year because if there was one, we would have heard about it all by now.
My comments were made entirely within the context of the notion of an alternate league coming in, nothing more mate.
I would have thought it was self evident no alternate league would be starting in 07 for the reasons just mentioned but lemme tell ya Nick, it wasn't the availability of money that was a problem in either case, it was more of overall viability and whether it was the 'right' thing to do for at least one of those parties at that time.

I think as this whole debacle unfolds, it is becoming increasingly obvious that we really do need at least the prospect of another league and I think both you and I would be in full agreement on that, if not everybody else save the Millennium guys.

100% agreed ...... at least on these points :)
