Millennium Series 2005

3 mods taking a thread off track - cease and desist or I shall join tha peasantry in a Frankenstein stylee revolt and we'll burn y'all.

Back on topic: NPPL doesn't announce all its venues, dates etc. upfront either, and these are politically sensitive times - I think that, this year at least, tha Millennium board has a justifiable reason for playing softly softly, catchy monkey.

Here's what I think

Well due to the little I know about the NPPL, look for Euro X-BALL to be gone. I believe that the NPPL will assert it dominace on the European community. With the 18 pro teams next year locked in to attending all the US events and probably aleast 2 Euro events 3 of the EXL teams will be committed to the best agenda at hand.

I would look for the Millennium to consolidate to 5-6 events again. 2004's mess stretched the means of sponsors and teams to attend up to 8 events. The quality of the overall product suffered. 2003 events were much better with only one event suffering from weak attendance. 2004 saw a decline in attendance due to the increased number of events. There were just too many of them. This caused a bigger financial burden for the promoters.

Other issues this year which will have to be addressed will be a unification between the NPPL and Millennium on the whole gun issue. It has gone from bad to worse. Some ref get a gun to bounce while other don't. Some team is believed to have cheater guns but actually they don't. What a frick'n mess. I think the Millennium has done a descent job withthis issue but really need to address this issue in the off season with the NPPL and come up with a standard early in 2005 so teams can comply.

I think that the only place that X-Ball will survive is going to be in the US. It is just too expensive for europe. Also no US teams can afford to attend X-Ball events in Europe. No US attendance no events in the end.

x'ball apears to be doomed when will the millenium grow some balls.
we pay we train y must we be forced to be at a disadvantage because we have no idea on format or league. The winter is for preparing not for the series to have a little chat and see how they can make the most money? Or am i being short sighted?
who ever said we will be a sport?

Well Lets See

Joy Division
Shockwave
Nexus
London Tigers

Will all be committed to the NPPL next year which means at least 5 trips to the states. If they have enough time between those trips and the other millennium events to keep their spot in the Pro division in the NPPL to play EXL I will be suprised. It will take a big commitment to make it to all those events. However I maybe wrong. I don't think so. The open X-ball barely got enough teams at every event in 2004. Oh well time will tell.

I just feel for the rest of the EXL that is now in nowhere land.

I too think that X-ball in Europe will no longer exist, the NPPL has shown the way forward and now the millennium is trying to catch up.

Whats the best way to do that?

Work it out for yourself......

Glen, about the plus-fours, can I get them in Prada or Farhi?
