No wonder many of them have such problems pulling in outside sponsorship. Most big money companies have their advertising and sponsorship budgets figured out for 2005 by now, so when some paintball promoter shows up at their doorstep during the course of 2005 asking for some money for an event he doesn't know the exact date for yet, he will be laughed out the door with a friendly pat on the back and a sheet of stickers for his troubles.

It's ridiculous that we don't know any dates yet. And by reading Steve's post, I feel that even some people within the organisation itself agree with that statement. By the way, this doesn't only apply to the Mil Series, but also to the NPPL and PSP.

Oh, and Andy, I think you mean you agree with Glen, rather than disagree. ;)

Glen, scoot over, I'm driving the golfcart dammit.
couldn;t agree with you more, PB aint gonna draft in big money sponsors for 2005 with no rela idea of what they are doing themselves

another side to things is the earlier promoters annouce events, the more time players and teams have to prepare for the on coming season and choose the events and start booking flights etc etc. and are likely to get a better turn out all round.

take a smaller sport for example say lumberjacking or fishing. No doubt they know next years dates b4 the current season has even started!!

why does pb have to be different in a way that dont do it any favours!

As far as I heard, things will get clearer after the Diego event, players and paintball as a whole will heavily benefit from what will go on next year.

Not interested in other points (yet) than how is the average div II player going to benefit? Lower entry fees? Free paint? Or big words? :D

I don't think thats the type of benefits he means. It could be the quality, location of the Events and here I would refer you back to my previous post where I asked,
'If the NPPL do have an interest in any of the Events what, if any, difference will it make? Will thay stage a better show than has been previously? If so, why are the Millennium organisors unable to do this themselves?'

;)

I understood that. But when was the last time these benefits did not require players to reach deeper in their pockets? Or game time or number of games were not reduced?

More flash, less game.

If NPPL makes it to Europe, I wonder how many games are guaranteed and what are the entry fees?

Games reduced? I would guess that it would remain the same...10 prelims and the finals would depend on the amount of Teams entered I suppose.

I personally thought that the entry fee for the Mill events was quite reasonable when you consider the quality of most of the Events. As mentioned, most of the poorer quality Events (Paris) will most likely be dropped = more value for Money.
(or am I again being naive) ;)

For sure everyone will benefit next season. as metioned earlier the allready very high quality of the most milleniumseries events will increase even "big time" next season.
I would stay tuned for much more informations coming up during the next couple of weeks.
