The fact also remains that current members of Nexus must be fairly dejected.
Or fairly releaved to be playing another season of NPPL ball?

I personally would not be happy at the thought of having to give up my place
They talked about it long and hard and it was a team choice - not taken lightly

Surely qualifying with Nexus players (even if it is more risky) would have given the team much more credibility in the eyes of sponsors, players and other teams?
Playing NPPL next year will do that anyway

Other Euro Pro teams managed to qualify without substituing entire squads of players.
Nexus relied on 4/5 of their scores on NPPL event and only one Millennium

But could Nexus have been in the same position without help?
I guess we will never know - but remember SD's result just backed up a years hard work. A Nexus squad could have gone out there and qualified - lets not forget that 16th place would have done it - that is just getting into Sunday

'in ya face baby!'
typically british opinions!!! why do we suck at most sports?.......cos we are so worried about the 'good form' that we forget about the winning!!

great to see Brit teams doin what they need to do to secure their places in the top 17 of the NPPL! well done all of ya's :D

i would have made the ame decision if i had had the Legion as insurance, as i am sure most of you would also.

as Leigh stated they were already within the top 17, but they needed to replace points already banked, with better points to assure a position, whereas the Tigers had this event to simply add to their score what ever the case, and i am not sure about Shock but i think it may have been the same for them as the Tigers.

so stop bitchin at them and congratulate them all, Nexus, Tigers and Shock well bloody done guys! alot of time, money and effort has got these guys there! respect;)

This year has been a learning and growing year for all, and a lot of it out of the hands of players. Things changing mid-season with NXL allowed to play, this seemed to have started the ball rolling. Then you have the Dynasty 2 team start up and try to get a late spot as well as all the other NXL teams. Of course teams had to make choices that they would not have considered at the beginning of the year. You play with the hand that is dealt to you, they best way you can. Hopefully next year will have a bit more continuity, but I think it will still be another growing year with even more surprises.

Congrats guys, you did the right thing

Congrats to Tigers and Shock

I would like to say well done to all the guys from Tigers and Shockwave for qualifying for the NPPL Pro Division next year.
I know both teams have worked really hard all year and definitely deserve it.

Nice one boys

Be as pedantic as you like about my use of the English language.

I'm sure all the Nexus players are happy to be playing NPPL next year. I am also sure all the sponsors will be happy you are playing there next year. But if they could have done it themselves, why did they field an entire squad of players from another team?

I doubt any of the guys on Nexus would be happy if they were pushed out of the final cut by another team playing with 7 RL.

I hope Nexus do really well next year, I just feel that it would have been even sweeter if you guys had qualified in San Diego with a Nexus squad. But what do I know? I can't even use the word correct, correctly. :D

Why oh why do there have to be different threads for Nexus, and Tigers and Shock?
You all talk about Brit Ballers Unite, but then something like this comes along...

And why do none of the none British teams get any props?
We don't :)

Although I agree the other thread shouldn't just be about the boys in blue so I've merged them together so there aint no bitchin... Buddha, don't be nice for the sake of it bro ;) tell it like it is...

3 brits got in, 2 by the skin of their teeth due to a DQ and BE's below par performance, 1 because they used the rules to their advantage.

But all in all it doesn't matter!!!!!! 3 Brit teams have the chance/option of playing next NPPL Pro ball next season, that's what the history book will say and that's all that people should be worried about.

Bitch and moan at the end of 2005 about who's the better when there is a full season of Pro vs Pro ball with everyone (in theory) all playing the same events, until then you are arguing semantics.

[/RANT] over...
