2004 was a very hard and weird year for Nexus. With the X-Ball and 7-Man formats we just plain struggled to get either right. We concentrated heavy on X-Ball this year and that caused us a lot of problems that have been a lot harder to overcome than we thought (Before anyone says "it didn't effect the Tigers or Shock", that's true but they are NOT Nexus). I'm not happy with what we did but I can sleep at night. We did what we as a team thought was the right thing for Nexus and for our sponsors. I hope they change the rule next year and lock down the team rosters; I have no problem with that. Like Leigh said we were in the top 17 before SD, by the skin of our teeth but in. What we have done is give ourselves a chance to put 2004 behind us and the chance to concentrate on one format and hopefully prove we can cut it. I understand everyone's point of view (Some of which have been logged in the memory banks). We believe we did the right thing within the rules, some people cheat, wipe, have ramping guns, sideline signalling etc. We decided to do something else !
I'd like to congratulate the Tigers and Shockwave on great seasons. I think having 3 Brit teams in the best league in the world is brilliant and I wise us all the best of luck.
I'd like to thank The Russian Legion for helping out in SD. Massive respect you guys rock.
Thanks to everyone that gave us respect, support, kind words ect etc. It means a LOT.
Massive thanks to Robbo for 2 great years. You will be missed.
Thank god 2004 is over, can't wait to see what 2005 has to offer. I believe Nexus has what it takes. I truly believe the players also think that, time and a lot of hard work will tell.
