Maxs Masters - Finals & various problems

Just one thought for today...

... isn't it about time the series had a rules/disciplinary committee that was independant of ALL organizers.

My idea would be a 7, 9 or 11 man group (any voting can't end in a tie) - made up of players (this is the key) - who would act as a sort of supreme court, when it comes to the writing, interpretation & enforcement of the rules??

Nick, Robbo & others any thoughts?

Just a wee question...

Me and my team had a good sit down this weekend, and went over the Millennium rules, so no one could claim not to be aware of a certain rule.
The rules that were changed, were they changed for that tourney alone, or are they now part of the official rules?
Also, I think the millennium people need to update their rulebook as it can be downloaded ASAP, because it still has the daft no look rule.

It would be nice if we could hear the TonTons side of the story. Maybe they have something else to say or just plain apolagize. I think Laurent or Jean Manuel should post something about it.

Good poinjt...Robo/Mr Big

I presume WHEN all gets published in PGI you guys are gonna get a comment off of Laurent and/or Jean Manuel...

Mn, tha next coupla issues are gonna be real interesting cos I presume tha NPPL/PSP thang is gonna get more than a few column inches and, if I notice those oh-so-familiar warning signs, a certain French dude is gonnaget a whole can of Whup-Ass opened on him by tha RoboMeister...

authority baby

It seems that no matter how well organised or how cool an event looks there still seems to be a grey area over 'authority' and 'responsibility'. I've been to loads of events which have so called 'ultimates' which do absolutely naff all, so why do we need 'em?? Which is why I think the whole supreme court of rules or whatever you wanna call it would be a good idea, the only trouble being trying to find a bunch of players that would be (a) unbiased, (b) tough but still 'fair' and (c) respectable. You'd have to pick a bunch o' guys, or gals, that people know AND look up to, otherwise no-one would either listen to them or give two shnits about their opinions.

Campaign Power ?!?

I like this discussion we need to get things out in the open.

I believe 100% in a players committee. I participated in a players meeting regarding this matter in Toulouse last year, but have'nt hear anything since.

Well here's my headache:

I play for Team Wikings and we are not known to be sorry losers. However in this case we do feel a bit pissed. Campaign Power is a very good strong team no doubt about that. The way they played in Germany they deserved to win and we congratulate them.....but how the F**K can the get marshalling points for Campaign Cup without marshalling ?????

Keep this thread hot guys.

Thats a pretty hard thing to achieve because an authority made up of players, even past players, is always going to be open to the members making bias decisions and if they are respected, then the chances are they have many friends in paintball (friends usually always owe each other favours) as weve seen.
A good solution could be to bring in someone from outside paintball who is experienced in general organisation and managment-a project manager for example. This person could be given the responsibility of ensuring that the event is setup/run smoothly.
Ruleswise, he/she could receive advice (and advice only) from a selection of highly experienced and respected players such as robbo, renick etc etc. This person would then, having had to study the rules and being given council by the selection of players, make a decision on whatever action needs to be taken.

Maybe 2 people would be needed, an 'event organiser executive' and a 'rules executive'.

The only downside to this is obviously cost, these people would have to be paid for in entry fees no doubt. It would probably also make decison making take more time.

On the plus side however, theres less chance of corruption.

Just my ideas..

Thanks for clearing that up abit better...But isnt it right that the hand held chronos do have a differance of 10% compared to the normal ones etc ??? therefore shouldnt it be the case that when players chrono on one type they should be checked on the same !!! ......................... as for the Russians they did check all markers on the table yet still the markers came up hot !!! on the hand held ones.... with todays markers settings it should be more uniform....

Regards Tony
