Amen to that.

I agree that the Marshalling wasn't of a very high standard and agree with most of what's been said. But if you all cast your minds back to a couple of weeks ago, Sparklie was posting on here crying out for Marshalls as she was short of a few. Some of these guys (who probably weren't too keen on doing it anyway) stepped up and took the role so we could have 4 fields and give us a chance of another decent tournament. If these guys hadn't have volunteered then Cobham would've been a lot worse than what some people think it was.

Although I personally feel the marshalling was of a lower than average standard, I still had a good day (even though we lost every game!) and did what I set out to do. Enjoy another days balling.

Thanks to Sparklie, Liz and the rest of the team, the marshalls, and all the teams that played.

See you at the next one. :p :p :p

Yes i know but i dont think people realise how hard it was this leg due to the weather oh and Sam I marshalled last leg and it was a pile of p1ss compaired to this as it wasnt like 100,000,00*C like this leg. Yes I was on the draxxus field.

stepped up and took the role so we could have 4 fields and give us a chance of another decent tournament
I only knew a day before the tourney mate

Please don't threaten to lamp other posters mate, we don't want to have to ban people.

With regards to the '10 people moaning' situation, it's a fair comment, but then after Amsterdam there was near-universal praise for the reffing, whereas after this event there is near-universal condemnation, which suggests that the reffing was largely good in the former and less good at the latter. That's not to say that all the refs were bad, or even that 100% of them weren't trying their absolute best, it's just saying that many people felt it was below calibre.

This thread has raised some good points - are refs getting enough support from above, do new systems need to be put in place, are the players largely to blame etc. - let's keep it going without threats and see where it goes.

It was warm at Bricket Wood and i struggled when marshalling in that heat let alone the shorcher that we played and they marshalled in yesterday... The guys did a hard job in tough conditions and again, we didn't really have any problems... Same as every tourney, some people have bad calls pulled on them, others have a good day shooting some fools, maxing a few teams, getting shot to sh1t by others and drinking some finely chilled, ice cold lager with their mates at the end of the day*!:D

*goober, tel - please note "end of the day":D I appreciated your restraint but was surprised you didn't take my suggestion and stick one in your pack for the end of the day

my field had been told to only chrono 4 people from each team.

Trouble is matey, and i mean no disrespect by this, but what the series needs is experienced marshalling teams to step up and judge events
Also almost everyone one on my field had marshalled 2-3 other legs of M25, most did southwest league last week and almost all have done UKPSF training.

Well, I would've put a can in me pack for the last game, but:

1) I needed all 12 pots - it was Equlibrium!
2) Being the Goober that I am, I would have probably emptied it into me Halo mid game! Shooting beer would have been... not good.

But we took 2 or three of them on the break... I suppose it was a bit unfair of us. After all, they should have been in Division 2.

True - but then, your Halo was knackered anyway. Should have done what i did and take your hopper off and feed three balls at a time.:p
