With regards to the '10 people moaning' situation, it's a fair comment, but then after Amsterdam there was near-universal praise for the reffing, whereas after this event there is near-universal condemnation, which suggests that the reffing was largely good in the former and less good at the latter. That's not to say that all the refs were bad, or even that 100% of them weren't trying their absolute best, it's just saying that many people felt it was below calibre.
This thread has raised some good points - are refs getting enough support from above, do new systems need to be put in place, are the players largely to blame etc. - let's keep it going without threats and see where it goes.
