The Chroney situation was different on all fields.

The WDP field was every player.

The draxus field was 3 at random from each team as was the RPS

And I don't know if we ever Chroneyd on the SP field. (Not saying it didn't happen....)

I thought everyone did really well. It may not have been the best marshalling ever but I think that every one did a great job in those conditions.

I was tired playing when we got to sit down and find shade it was hot everywhere.

These guys did a great job and I just want to thank everyone for the hard work put in. I was grateful to have played and hope it is not quite so hot next time.

Also almost everyone one on my field had marshalled 2-3 other legs of M25, most did southwest league last week and almost all have done UKPSF training (I have done Chroni course, Tourney course and site course :D )
The word i am looking for here is EXPERIENCE because of the lack of tourneys we have had down here the marshals have none or at best very little of the above and dont know how to implement the rules (or even know them) and have no idea how to control some of the nutters that seem to play and go off at the deep end if a call go's against them.
Up north the marshals do not stand for ****ty behaviour and at series2k3 and the mm they ban players and teams for just a fraction of the **** i saw going on yesterday.

We have got to put this in order or the m25 will surly fail as a serious alternative to going north to play and not getting shafted.

ok my opinion is this

i think the marshals did a good job for the conditions, and i do think that rps feild did well good, and at the end i stayed to help pack up as i was getting a lift from a m8 who marshalled, he was moaning bout his knee (he dived on top of a tsunami player whos gogs had come off) and he had been lit up on his ass and he couldn't drive very welll due to this, i think lion the superior did very well in making decisions on that feild, and from the same feild i saw a marshal afterwards who had been sick twice due to the amount of effort he had been puting in during the heat, i also heard of a game getting getting paused because someone fainted..................ease up guys it WAS TOO HOT to marshal perfectly

1- No.

2- Yes. there is no reason to not argue with the ref. If you get them to change their mind you've won. If they don't, your team has had one less marshall watching.

3- Hell yes. The Preds and NAM were polite to each other compared to the attitudes of so many players to the marshalls.

I marshalled all m25 bar the last. And i can say with utter conviction that I hope that UK paintball scene never takes off, so that the rest of the world never gets to experience the piss poor attitude that seems to be the UK players only skill.

my view of this is that all of these people have volunteered to marshall, they could have been playing like the rest of us, but then we wouldn't have had any marsalls, so we coludn't play, so somone would have had to volunteer!!

its a (very) viscious circle, this is getting silly, its all been said, but if teams don't say they will marshall there won't be a league and we are back to square one - i can't imagine there are many people who would like to marshall leg 5 after the drubbing you lot are giving the poor buggers who marshalled yesterday.

the only way this could be sorted for future seasons is to have all teams marshall one leg each - the cost to teams for this would be that they would all have to do the marshalling course first, to ensure the standard of marshalling is high enough to keep everybody happy from players to event organisers and sponsors.

Tsunami lost points and possible places due to a dubious call from some very tired marshalling bodies, but we went there to have fun and we did, i think respect is due to all the marshalls even the ones who did make bad calls for volunteering, instead of just signing up to play and hoping some one else will do it

lets all calm down a bit! it's a new league it's gonna have teething probs.

in reply to this.
1) Ralph was fantastic in his support of us, if there was any problems he would listen to our side as well. If you go higher up it involves changes to the rule system.

2) Yes (and quickly). I belive that i should have been tougher on teams that argued and had people coaching from the sidelines (next time i will be)

3) Players giving refs a hard time will always happen, its the result of the adrenaline, but once the decision is made, its done. Learn to live with it and dont blame the ref. (on a side note, some of the behaviour on our field was disgusting). If i decide to ref down that way again (and it was a 500 mile round trip for me) i WILL be enforcing penaltys for abusive behaviour and foul langauge.

Overall i had a good day with very few problems, the guys on our field did very well in the circumstances, most players were well mannered and had remembered that this is a GAME played for FUN.

My thanks to Sparklie for putting the event on and being brave enough to let me run the field, Ralph for being there when i needed some advice, Gee for the drinks all day and to all those players that thanked us for reffing on the hottest day of the year so far.

As for those of you that didn't like my decisions. TOUGH. Next time i will come down on arguements like the proverbial "tonne of bricks".

Thanks for reading, we will now return you to the normal whinging and slanging match;) :D :D

I would like to say Alien I think you did a good job and always try to say thanks to the marshalls if I didn't I am sorry.

And I want to say sorry to the Marshal on field 1 I had a little verbal tussle with, After the game we shock hands and apologised for what we said (You know who you are) I just want to make it public that I am sorry for being an ar$e, most people who know me know that I am a fair player and yes some days I am an idiot with a loud voice and I always apologise when I know that I have done something wrong.

I for one think the marshalls did a great job in the conditions that made the day a very heated one both in temp and tempers.

Adrenalin and Hot air dont mix.

Again Sorry and thanks to all marshalls

Alien, i thanked all the marshalls on the day and after every game, yours especially so, as we played more games on your field than any, you have my support for a job, in my opinion well done.

you guys had to deal with some tough games where the heat mixed with the adrenaline became too much for some people, (i think you know what i'm talking about?!) and even in that situation you were fair, you have earned my respect.
