Lets PLEASE have a stop to this we're in the PRO div boo hoo (Gaff aside :) ) SP'C has stated numourus times they are NOT pro / AM A / AM B........... Div's. Mearly 1...2...3....4.... Now, aside the odd team (Above) if your team is the 5 / 6 best attending the compatition your in Div 1 irespective of your precived abbility.

The earlyer (Other thread I think) suggestion of having a 4 team pro div, 12 + team div's 2 & 3 just wont work. You think the schedule was F****d last time try that one out !!!!!

I remember when the Millenium first toyed with the same rank divs idea EVERYBODY bitched cos they would't get there shot at the Pros. You can't have it both ways. Not too long ago most tourneys (and certainly the last few down the temple) were OPEN divisions with whoever tuned up going in the pot !!

Why there were fewer pro entries I don't know. Just missed the date maybe but the gaps have to be filled. People should be proud that there team is held in such regards that Liz / Liz's helpers think you can cut it. You never know you just might do quiet well !!! Certainly Team Zone will be tring our best to win Div 3 (which we didn't last time !) and move up AGAIN on merit !

I always thought that was the idea of compatition..........maybe I was wrong.

Next thing someone will be thretning to sue for mental anguish

Hey go-one, you should win it, because all the competition you had at leg 2 has been removed to div 2

you came second
then blackstar, sinners (not playing this leg) , a few good men and then Tsunami

How come they all got moved and you didn't when you beat them all?

if the league placings are based on "general ability, recent results and experience" as stated by Liz, how come you didn't move up?

OF COURSE YOU ARE HAPPY!!!

As i have said before the thing that has got to most people is it's not the top 3 teams getting moved up we came 2nd last time and are 2nd overall so would go up any way .
The other thing is this 1234 stuff most of the teams in div 1 are pro and if enough pros had entered then all would have been, div 2 is all am a/b teams div3 all novice and 4 all rookie so saying that is not how the divs should be looked at is silly...
This is the type of thing that will kill this torny and it is not getting sorted out.
An idea is to have top 2 in each div go up and bottom 2 go down.

Mate, only one of the teams in Div 1 is a real Pro team, so i wouldnt worry about it. As i posted a while ago, the only way to improve is to play teams that are better then you, as they will expose your weaknesses and areas you need to improve. This will result in you becoming a stronger team unit and develpoing into a better all round team.

2 up 2 down works fine as long as the same teams enter each time; as it happens, there are 6 teams who played in Div 1 last time out who aren't playing this time. So we move the top 2 up from Div 2 - except one of those hasn't entered this time either (!), then what do we do for the remaining 4 places. OK, in the case of Ecstasy withdrawing we were able to put the first team on the reserve list into that division though they aren't really near that standard, but what if the next few teams on the list are true novices - can't just stick them up there.
A proper league system works on the basis that the teams entered don't change from round to round but this is paintball where not just the teams but the number of entries can vary each time.

.

Darn right Liz.

As I've posted elsewhere the clue word here is league. In other sports the teams enter for the length of the season. I notice that there are 32 places and 26 rolling deposits. This means that even if all 26 teams play the rest will have to be made up of random other teams entering. With the quality of what Sparklie is providing you have to question the viability of less than 32 teams.

So on some occassions the divs will be stacked in ways some people don't think is right. But, really, is the problem here with the organiser or a lack of commitment from teams.

The M25 is by far the best chance this area has of a good series. If players and teams want it to continue and improve support the league and get your entries in.
