We've heard here that a suicide bomber was shot dead at Canary Wharf, and the army are now being deployed on the streets. I am ****ing scared right now.
Ahh, rumour and heresay - I love the way things always spiral out fo control.

Thoughts out to those who have been injured, and families of those who have been killed, but I'd like to flick a big fat V at whoever did this.

edit add - I live in Central London - went through Liverpool Street as usual this morning on my way to work out in Essex - gonna be a trek to get home tonight.

Depends on what you mean by the London area. I'm inside the M25 but luckily no longer commute into central London.

Must admit I'm still a bit paranoid about bombings in London, having had the building I used to work in blown up (luckily I was off that day, remember the IRA bomb in Docklands that ended the ceasefire?) and I was on the train pulled into the platform they blew up at London Bridge station when that went off.

Nothing on the news about suicide bombers. BBC still reporting only 2 dead but from a clip I just saw of paramedics trying to resucitate someone I'd imagine that number will go up. Still getting injured people out of the underground system, but luckily it looks like it's nowhere near as bad a Madrid for casualties.

Pardon the yank here, but here's what I've been able to scrape together from the CNN "Kneejerk news".

Right now Blair is on and talking about these as terrorist attacks. According to the sources, 6 underground explosions confirmed, 1 or 3 double decker buses exploded. "Zone 1" is completely shut down, rail and bus traffic stopped. The US news isn't talking about casualties yet. Vonage said they gave emergency priorities over cell use, and anyone else is out of service. Land lines are also jammed.

Prayers go out to everyone over there, I'm hoping the worst is over.

Right, I know. I've been there. In 2000 I was climbing out of "Kings X" in a London vacation. So I know around where this is happening. I'm just a little creeped out becasue this feels a little too familiar.
