Well, the NXL is allegedly allowing them to play as many Millenniums as they want but I have yet to hear of any great meeting of the ways between NXL aned NPPL, there is some way to go before that happens I think..........we might hear something in the not too distant future.......all depending upon one particular person calling another.
We'll see if the the fone is picked up or not :)

And even if the fone is picked up, it don't mean the issues can be resolved until certain 'obstructions' to progress can be removed.....

That's enough about the jailbai- , er, girlfriend. Go watch Porky's or something.

The whole point ought be that LaSoya's behavior is nothing new and, gee whiz, the marshalls aren't all over him all the time. And why not? For whatever reason the great majority of refs, regardless of status, simply aren't prepared to deal with him or conduct like his 'cause it's nothing new. He's only the extreme example.
And threads like this, after the fact, can and do, have potential impact on changing rules and addressing issues, like reffing, that over time have improved--in part, because people talk about it and demand change.

after seeing his conduct in Toulouse, i would love to ref him, i would be so far up his ass that the slightest misdemeanour would result in a velcro fest, then any other words or actions and a 141 would closely follow! players like him will eventually find it very hard to get away with anything, cos we will all be watching and waiting!

>>And threads like this, after the fact, can and do, have potential impact on changing rules and addressing issues, like reffing, that over time have improved--in part, because people talk about it and demand change.<<

But still what i am really still surprised about is that at such a
high profile game no actions was taken at all
i can't beleive no ultimate or higher ranked official was present
but i guess it was a money thing then :(

But then again
all this talking here
is all after the Facts of unsportsmanlike behaviour in actions and words (if what i read here is true)
So let's hope next time maybe everyone who is there
and has actually power to do something acts
when it occurs
instead of talking afterwards

And the ones without actual power can try to make clear
that u can't condone actions like that,
because if we all keep quiet we all are part of the problem and not of the solution

to me it is the same as watching someone wipe
amd when he come of the field "alive"
u can shut up and say nothing and be part of the problem
or u can at least make a remark at his wiping
off course he will tell u to eat sh.. & D..
but at least he knows he didn't do it unnoticed
(maybe i am naïve but i can live with that)

>>The way to make sure he dosn't get away with it is to be extra harsh on him when you judge, I would have piled up the arm bands..<<

Just judge him fairly like every other PBplayer has to be judged
especially if we want to send a message on how PB should be
we definitely should not have some witchhunt,
it is just simple
if u can't abide the rules there is the same kind of punishement for ALL

banning afterwards sounds a bit silly to me
actions has to be taken right there and then
afterwards there is no merit for it anymore

I have a question for anyone reffing...

Did anyone "in charge" say to you before the event something along the lines of:

"Do not tolerate any BS on the field. If a player argues with you after they are eliminated, pull another player. If a player touches you or another player in a hostile manner, eject them from the event." or whatever?

Everytime I run an event, I make a point of telling the refs to tolerate absolutely no BS as I tolerate no BS. The refs then tolerate no BS. We have 25 point penalties instead of 1-for-1's, but I do get scoresheets back with 25 point penalties for very minor sportsmanship issues like arguing with a ref after a call.

And you can sure bet we have very little problems.

The problem with reffing pretty much everywhere, is no one sits down with the refs before the event and says "If Player A shoots player B after they're eliminated, do this. If a player argues, pull another player, I WANT you to do it." All too often it's "You're on field 3. Go pull people when they're hit."

And it goes back to having people who ref, ref, and ref again - every single event. You train 'em once, and you correct the occasional occurance of things not being enforced right, and you have refs who know what they're doing, instead of refs who just know how to play.

Seriously, there should be a test, describing a series of on-field situations and asking what the appropriate penalty is. I bet if you had such a test on p8ntballer and gave it to people who have reffed millenium they by and large would NOT agree on the appropriate penalty (because no one ever told them), and that's a problem.
